I love this place! The coffee, the food, the staff... just all of it is A* I could eat their vegan pumpkin donuts everyday and I'm lucky to literally live round the corner, so this place is fast becoming my husband and mine #1 Coffee spot!

Such a cute cafe! The waiting staff were so lovely, giving us recommendations and quick service. The place was lovely, we sat at the front and it was well decorated. The food was good quality and tasted great, and prices not too expensive.

I had a very positive experience at this small vegan restaurant. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the staff are friendly and professional. The menu offers a variety of vegan options, and I was impressed with the quality of the food. The English breakfast was well-prepared and flavorful, and the breakfast bagel was a great combination of textures and flavors. The coffee was of good quality and the coconut cake was a nice accompaniment. I thought the chocolate pancakes would make a good desert, but it turned out they could be a separate breakfast dish :) Overall, I recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking vegan food in the area. The food and service were both of good quality and I would be happy to visit again in the future, to try out the lunch menu.

We popped in to get out of the rain. We were not disappointed! The breakfast bagel is incredible! So much flavour The service was great, all very kind. I loved the decor The food was reasonably priced. I now think this place is better than cafe thrive in Southampton and I LOVE that place. Would definitely recommend a visit even just for coffee if veggie/vegan food isint for you.

Lovely place to eat 100% plant based food. My son loved the banana pancakes. The fact you can have breakfast food at lunchtime is brilliant. I did try the blueberry milkshake and I absolutely loved it. We will definitely coming back. I highly recommend this place.

Can’t wait to go back here again, absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. The staff were lovely and after asking, even gave drink suggestions - I recommend the mermaid matcha latte for those discouraged by the strong taste of matcha. The portion was very filling and the menu had many interesting and unique options. First time trying scrambled tofu and really enjoyed it along with the homemade bbq beans and potatoes. They also offer to takeaway so will definitely return to try their other fun flavoured drinks!

The food is lovely. The breakfast bagel and the sausage and bacon pancakes are both very good. All plant based. The coffee is amazing, as are the smoothies. Dogs also welcome which is great.

By far the best place to have a coffee and bite to eat in Southsea. I visited every weekend whilst at uni in Portsmouth and is a must visit on my trips to Portsmouth from London. The coffee tastes fantastic and the smoothies and Juices are also great. The menu has seen some changes but I’ve never been disappointed EVER with the quality and taste of the food they’ve delivered. The scrambled tofu is by far my favourite and the breakfast bagel I definitely recommend. It’s great to see the new things added to the menu and sometimes find the new things I’ve tried away from my favourites to be just as delicious.

I'm not a veggie yet this food still impresses me every time!!!. The pancakes are some of the best pancakes I have every had !. The coffee is equally as good with lots on both the food and coffee menu to choose from. The staff are always very happy and the place is a great quirky spot !!!. Awesome.

We had a hearty lunch at this vegan coffee shop. It is found at the south east of Porthsmouth and it allowed us to walk back to the train station on the coastal road. The place is not so crowded and the service was fast. You can have a lunch and dessert in £12-£15. However, i would recommend serving the tea in a tea cup rather than a coffee mug. It makes a whole difference.

Popped in for brunch after visiting a few times for coffee. Love the styling of this place, right up my street, it has an industrial type of feel but comfortable and chilled at the same time. We ordered our food at the counter and sat out the back which has what looks like (I didn't play there, wasn't allowed) a great play spot for accompanying kids - toys, games and a chalk board! Mum's; would keep the kids quiet for ages. Our food arrived shortly after our drinks. I ordered the Stack which consisted of a spinach, sweet potato and onion type hash with a nice flavour, topped with a very well cooked poached egg. I opted for the grilled haloumi on the side which ended up being a great choice. The dish was well present and all fresh. All that was washed down with a couple of tasty coffees and complimentary water. We'd have sampled some of the tasty looking cakes but we had another meal to attend in a matter of hours. Will be visiting again, mainly to try some of the other food. Hunter Gatherer offers a lot of gluten free and vegetarian dishes.

Such a beautiful vegan gem in Portsmouth ! When travelling down from the North to my hometown, cannot go without a visit to the best cafe. Yet again the food and customer service was incredible. The detail in decoration, and effort in flavours the kitchen and staff put into their delicous vegan dishes is second to none. We had the breakfast bowl and immune booster juice and it was just perfection. We also got cookies to takeaway (the peanut butter cookies are to die for!) As fellow vegan foodies and people who work in food and hospitality we can only appreciate and applaud Hunter gatherer cafe in everything they do and wish them contunued success in Portsmouth. Thank you again for another wonderful brunch.
