What a wonderful wonderful place. Great view of the harbour, gorgeous food and the most amazing, friendly, staff. Welcomed as if we were long lost friends. Julie made us feel so special and like we’d known her for years.
Thoroughly recommend this place and we’ll definitely be back
Stopped for drinks yesterday, the staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely setting looking out over the harbour watching the boats coming and going. This wasn’t our first visit and certainly won’t be our last!! Definitely recommend a visit.
Best wedding ever! Two weeks later and people still raving about the beautiful venue and warm feeling the day brought. Thank you Gareth, Dennis and staff...above and beyond. Highly recommended xxx
Food and drinks was great staff very good too, was lovely eating lunch watching the ships come and go from the window
This place is just the best. Beautiful traditional pub situated in Old Portsmouth. The best harbour views and The Spinnaker. Brilliant. Can honestly say the burgers were the best I have ever tasted. Wine was gorgeous. Mid price range and for the atmosphere and fab location, couldn't wish for more. Can't wait to go back.
Thought the 28 day aged steak was absolutely lovely and well presented, a big thanks to the chefs. The bar staff were amazing as well - very welcoming and friendly, providing quick service. Also luv the toilets, they’re fab (especially the mirrors). 💜🍟🥩
Had a lovely stop at Spice Island Inn for a pint and a pie. Sat outside to watch the world go by as the sun set. The pies were delicious. The staff were friendly. And the atmosphere was welcoming. Worth the walk along Millennial Trail.
Cracking pub right on the edge of the Sea, the ferries continuously arrive and depart right outside the pub! There's a small seating area outside by a cobbled road, which is still used by traffic, so be careful. Across the cobbled Road is an outdoor area where drinkers can hang out. When the weather is good, it's a perfect place to unwind right next to the sea. The pub is only a 10 min walk from Gunwharrf Quays, and has a more local feel to it than other pubs full of tourists or shoppers. The food and service are both excellent and there's a good range of local ales.
Excellent company, excellent location, please. Please do not come here. I need it all to myself. Food is very well cooked drinks are well poured and the ambience of this place is delightful. We'll be coming back to bring my children and my family. And I recommend the seafood options and probably has the best chips in Portsmouth and the best cider for those that are fussy with the alcoholic beverages, in addition. I would like to make a special mention. The ambience of the place makes me feel like I am in a mediterranean country very close to the ocean and very close to mother.
Great location on the harbour with excellent views of the boats coming in and out. Food was nice and reasonably priced.
Lovely space! and a great view! got to speak to the manager, he seemed like a great guy and super welcoming! will definitely be visiting again :)
A lovely venue with a good view of the harbor and spinnaker tower. A ferric place for a pint and watching the sunset. The food was not as good as the place next door, but the atmosphere, service, and beer selection were terrific.
Nice pub, went on a Sunday lunchtime, was a warm sunny October so say outside watching the boats, yachts.
Staff very polite, drinks were good, first glass as drunk was being poured had slight mark so barman stopped and changed glass, so pays attention to what he is doing.
Started to get busy, but plenty of room in the pub, also with upstairs area which overlooks the harbour. Happy to recommend and to go back
The best thing about this pub is the location. Situated in old Portsmouth right by Portsmouth Point. Great views of ships and boats arriving and departing and seeing the Spinnaker Tower lit up at night. Some outdoor seating. Parking can be a problem. Excellent place for holding functions upstairs.
Really nice pub but marked it down a star for the fact that the mens toilets only had one soaking wet cubicle and no toilet paper. Prices were slightly higher but for the location it's definitely worth it!
Great place for a pint of beer in the sun and watch the boats and ships going in and out of the harbour
We had a big group meal for 18 of us - a work get together. We pre-ordered food and it arrived all at once and well timed. Generally good food, though I think one steak was a bit overdone but they sent out a new one straight away. A great range of drinks, a lovely atmosphere in the upstairs dining area. We had a great evening. Staff were amazing - big shout out to Toby, Jenessa, Cohen and Finley for making us feel so welcome.
Really lovely place and food is superb 👌🏻, definitely recommend, staff lovely , and some lovely views too 😀
A great place to have a pint and a meal. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the place after a busy start to the day it was nice to be able to unwind here for an hour or so before I headed out again.
Absolutely gorgeous views from outside the pub. It's a shame the lady behind the bar was unhappy and rude.
Definitely worth sitting upstairs for a fantastic view overlooking the spinnaker and Portsmouth and watching the ferries come and go. I had the nachos which were really good with "proper" nachos, not just a pack of Doritos! The fish and chips were very good too. Usual Greene king beers. Unfortunately the Spice Island beer was not on when we visited.
What a wonderful place. Burgers were superb. I’ve never actually experienced that sort of atmosphere like that before, it was electric. This Irish Barman named Elliot was lovely despite the unbearable Irish accent. Made us feel so comfortable, he pours those pints so well.
