Very friendly staff that are warm and welcoming every single day.
Coffee is very good and the cappuccino froth lovely - plentiful and dense just as it should be.
Really appreciate the Christmas cups and motifs on the top of my coffee every morning!!
Thank you!
Canvas Coffee Shop is a delight! This is a social enterprise that sells locally roasted speciality coffee, local tea and cakes baked by local companies. The coffee is excellent, as are the pastries (by the local bakery BREAD Addiction).
It is currently a pop up shop at Portsmouth and Southsea train station and it opens early (6am on weekdays) so convenient for early morning commuters. There is limited seating inside.
If you are in the area and fancy a decent coffee or tea, then do pop in. It's a great cause too - the current Zomato rating does not do it justice!
Canvas Coffee Shop is a little pop up shop within Portsmouth & Southsea train station, that serves their own blend of speciality coffee, roasted in Hampshire. They also sell local tea from All About Tea , a selection of home made cakes and local ice cream. In addition, Canvas is a social enterprise with all profits going towards social initiatives. The coffee is excellent (I usually have a flat white, long black or a mocha) and costs about £2.50 a cup. To put this into perspective, the coffee served on the train is instant and costs £2 :-D Commercial Road is not the nicest place in Portsmouth and the the train station is not the most vibrant. So how nice to have a charming little coffee shop with plants growing from milk cartons and packets of free coffee grounds to takeaway for composting!
Great independent specialty coffee shop hiding just inside the main station.
Great selection of locally roasted beans for purchase too. I opted for the darker roasted house blend (roasted in Winchester)
Prices are good and if you buy a bag of coffee you get a free drink! Bonus.
My latte was excellent - Milk was smooth and creamy and just the right temp and coffee was chocolatey with a slight hint of hazelnut
Plenty of seating in a bright, open space. Very friendly service too. 8oz and 12oz available.
Cracking coffee shop located with Portsmouth & Southsea train station.
It has a comfortable interior to sit and enjoy your coffee along with a bit of grub; ranging from sandwiches to delicious cakes. Some hot snacks are also available.
The staff are friendly and helpful. You can usually grab a seat while waiting for your train or simply pop by to enjoy it; it's accessible to the public at all times (not located after ticket gates for example).
Probably one of two great cafes to have your morning coffee in Portsmouth.
Friendly staff, great music throughout the day, coffee tastes amazing and different options of milk (oat milk, soy and regular milk).
They have a variety of vegan options, pastries and freshly made sandwiches.
Hot food is also available (soups and toasties).
Amazing coffee shop with Gluten Free cakes and Dairy free alternatives! Lots blends available to buy and free 'used coffee grounds' to take for composting! More coffee shops should be doing this
Great coffee and very interesting decor.
The coffee is some of.the best in portsmouth. They supply bags of coffee which you can buy also other equipment for a coffee connoisseur.
If you are a gardener they also have used coffee for mulching with.
I would rate the coffee higher than the foods here, however. Nothing is perfect in life.
Overall if you want to get a nice coffee with comfortable seating and good food. Come here
The espresso are beautifully served and they have distilled coffee products
Fantastic coffee shop with vegan options, lots of selection, friendly staff and delicious coffee. Highly recommended
By far the best coffee I've had since being in the UK (which granted isn't difficult). Service was wonderful. I also has the vegan cheese and pesto twist which was UNREAL, tasted better than the real thing! Will definitely be returning when I'm back in Portsmouth!
Best independent railway cafe I have ever visited. The high standard of coffee you would expect from an independent cafe with the chic, rustic trimmings of a hipster joint only with none of the pretention. Staff are authentic, friendly and seem genuinely pleased to serve you.
I recommend the banana and chocolate chip cookies, they taste divine!
What a pleasant surprise. A train station wouldn’t be my first choice to go for a coffee. In fact from years gone by and lots of travel would have been my last choice. But this was close so figured I would give it a try. Great coffee, service was excellent. Only reason not 5 stars is no bathroom. Train station has bathroom but not sure how to access as looks like you need ticket for train.
