Smart little room (although REALLY warm! Could have done with a fan in this weather). This place is in a great location in the centre of Old Portsmouth, and if you stay here you get 15% off the food in the pub restaurant downstairs... And if I have one piece of advice, it's to eat at this place! The food is stupendous. The staff are really friendly, and the whole place just has a nice easy vibe.
It's also dog friendly which is always a bonus!!
Stayed here with my dog and it was lovely. The room was very tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable and the man who was working in the bar was an absolute delight. Super friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. There was 20% off food and drinks for those staying in the rooms which was a lovely addition and the food was lovely. Location was great for walking the dog with some lovely views across the water. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.
Great location, unfortunately the room had a noisy generator next to it on top of the garden noise. The see through glass in the door could have done with a privacy screen on it as my friends could see me in the bathroom. I would also recommend black out blinds as the room was very light from 7am with all the blinds closed. A hairdryer for each room would be a nice touch instead of a shared one.
Wonderful dog friendly pub/restaurant with enormous portions of delicious beautifully cooked food. The staff were friendly and informative the only slight critique would be the time it took to get served but this was testament to how popular this charming place is. 10/10
Didn't try the food while staying here for two nights. However, the staff seemed friendly and the decor was nice. Rooms were fantastic too
Had an amazing experience staying in the suite. The room was stylish, lovely and clean, although we stayed on the Saturday night, it was very quiet during the night and Tom at the reception/bar was very friendly and helpful. Totally recommend it.
Great location in Old Portsmouth!
Chose to have breakfast on Saturday morning but the chef hadn't got out of bed! The bar attendant 'On time Tom' cooked it for us & did a great job! The ingredients were really good quality. We chose a cafe for breakfast on the Sunday morning and regretted it, not as good as Tom's breakfast!
There's a carpark really close which uses RingGo app.
This was a great base for exploring Portsmouth & we'd visit again.
Such an incredible place. Cosy but not cramped, fair prices, fantastic quality food and drinks - you can taste the freshness. Not to mention the fantastic staff - in particular Tom who goes above and beyond with his hospitality and charm.
Fantastic little pub, service was superb, very friendly staff. And the best chips EVER!!!!! I will definitely be going back.

We had a drink here waiting to get a ferry. The barman who served us was very friendly and gave us a great recommendation for breakfast in St Malo. Excellent service.
I decided to go in because from the outside with the black paint and small windows it looked like an old style pirate's pub! Inside it's a lot more modern but very nice decor and light fittings. They had a huge spirits collection but only a couple of ales however both were local which was a nice touch.

Had my first experience of the pub with my wife had a delicious meal, great value and excellent service from Paul. What a lovely guy, so welcoming and knowledgeable.
Even took time to show us the rooms upstairs as we were staying at a nearby establishment.
We can't wait to come back and try the Sunday roast.
The food, service and value is truly exceptional.
Absolutely Amazing *****
Hid from the rain with a cuppa earlier in the day and decided to go back for dinner. Absolutely thrilled we did!!
The lady serving knew all the specials and what wasn't available. We had a beef burger which was most definitely hand made and delicious, chicken burger which was same as the beef but with fresh perfectly cooked chicken and fillet steak which was absolutely beautifully presented and couldn't have been cooked any better!
Perfect service, food and lager :)
