As I'm something of a beer lover and brewing enthusiast, I was astounded to hear that this place had been there for two years. The house beer was excellent, the selection of bottled beers cannot be matched anywhere in Portsmouth, the food was exceptional and the service was great. I can't wait to bring my beer loving friends to this place, I shall be spreading the word. All I have to say to most of them is, 'Kwak on tap'

Visited today for lunch with my partner. Been here previously but only for drinks, however the food tastes amazing. Would wholeheartedly recommend the Beef Carbonade and Moules Mariniere with Twice Cooked Frites. Generous selection of beers, attentive staff and cosy location. Will definitely come back.

Really enjoyed our lunch here. Had no idea you could get so many different flavoured beers, would never have guessed coconut flavour beer would be so nice! Then the food, so glad we heeded the warning to have a small starter, even so I had to admit defeat and couldn't finish my main course of Beef Carbonade. Such a shame as it was delicious. I intend to come back after having starved for a day or 2 so I can do it justice!

My children brought me here for a “miss the crowds”, early mother’s day treat and what a treat it was. Really friendly and helpful staff. Amazing choice of beers. Lovely ambiance and funky comfortable feel about the place. Lastly the food, how can something so simple be so tasty. We all chose the Croque Madame and it was delicious. I need to make room for a starter or pudding next time! Really lovely couple of hours spent there.

I'm over from Germany visiting family and friends. I visited here on Friday night. Really friendly staff, and a great selection of beers from around the world. Very impressed the Paulaner Weißbier is on tap too:) A truly great place with a wonderful atmosphere. Will be back sometime.

Came here this afternoon with my husband and son and what an awesome choice! Authentic Belgian food and drink in a very cosy relaxed atmosphere, with really friendly and efficient staff. Food is amazing and very filling (no tiny portions here) and they have an extensive drinks menu which has absolutely something for everyone, I highly recommend the Delirium Red beer! Too full up to try desert but will do that another day 😝

Went for lunch today, booked in advance but there was plenty of seating. Food was of incredible quality and very tasty, definitely consumed more than I should have! Over 70 Belgian beers to choose from with my favourites being served. Service was very friendly and inviting and accommodated our dog with us. I would thoroughly consider driving all the way (2h drive) to Portsmouth to eat there again! Also took away some beers with us to enjoy later on.

This is one of the best places to drink and eat in Portsmouth! The food is good, you have infinite beer types to choose from and the deserts are delicious. Also the staff is very professional and friendly. The location is perfect, the place is cozy and the music is good. Strongly recommend!

Absolute gem of a restaurant, serving traditional Belgian drinks and food. The food servings were large and most of all delicious. It gives you a true taste of Belgium. The staff were super welcoming and friendly. They recommended beers from the huge selection and allowed me to sit and wait for a table as it was busy! No surprise it's Number 1 rated on Trip Advisor. You won't be disappointed.

5 stars would give more but can't! Fantastic hosts with a good knowledge of Belgian beers, which is very pleasing as the range is superb. A couple of cheesy snacks were cooked to perfection. It's best to book a table ahead as we only just got in. Small amount of stalls at the bar for drinking only. A fantastic bar. Boerenerf Kwee lambic was the star of the show as regards the beers.

Have visited a few times over the years but this was the first time eating here. The food was phenomenal and portions very large. would definitely recommend coming with a very empty stomach as you certainly won't be leaving with one. Great selection of food and beers that was enjoyed by all. Booking highly recommended to avoid disappointment especially at weekends.

I had the pork belly and my partner had the burger. I have to say both were delicious, but my pork was super delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and the beers were also lovely. Very generous portion sizes. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. We live in Southsea so will definitely be returning!! We did return and it was delicious. Make sure that you book as it is always super busy.

What an amazing place, a proper gem of a place. No wonder it was packed on a Wednesday evening!!! We only popped in for a drink and managed to get the last table with the couch. Ended up staying for food and oh my what a decision that was. The food was exceptional. Some of the best Bitterbalen I've ever had and the Stoofrites were outta this world. I shall definitely be keeping an eye out for stoofrites and the beer carbonade when I'm next in Belgium

Lovely bar with a super chilled vibe. The staff are attentive without being overbearing & have great product knowledge. The beer selection is excellent & the food is surprisingly good for such a small venue. Recommended booking because space is limited but don't let that put you off, it still manages to feel surprisingly spacious & comfortable.

Booking is recommended, we tried to walk in twice and full both times so we booked the next time. The food was amazing and the choice of beers was crazy! Will 100% visit again as the pork belly that came out on the table next door looked soo good!

An excellent example of a Belgian Bar, has the authentic feel of a stylish bar straight outta Bruges for me. The beer selection is as extensive as you'd expect from a Belgian beer bar, they also offer house beers. The food here is next level good and is easily one of my favourite restaurants in town. Everything I've had has been very tasty and also consistent quality over my many visits. Definitely not a place to skip, be sure to book ahead because it gets very busy.

A nice place to try Belgian dishes. Mussels, burgers and pork chop were great! I found the food slightly salty but generally okay, and friendly enough staff members :)

Loved this place. Epic beer selection and delicious wine. Nice atmosphere too. Small selection of non meat dishes, but still struggled to decide which option to go for. Go hungry as they really don't stint on their portions. Be going back for the options I didn't choose!

The food is very well done, the meats are always perfect and filling, their desserts are the same. I love the atmosphere and look of the place. I always feel comfortable there. Will be going again, highly recommended.

Tiny restaurant. You will likely have to book a table. Unfussy service and ambiance. Lots of choice of beer’ ale etc. Simple Pilsner was well priced and tasty. Everyone looked to be enjoying their food. I had meatballs and chips which was very tasty and a generous portion.

Our second time eating here we had mussels lamb rump and a over indulgent waffle. All the coarses were really good. Beer selection is huge but knowledgable staff are more than happy to help with selection if like me your not to sure. Restaurant was really busy so best to book and that was on a Tuesday. We’ll definitely be back
