This is by far the best food in Southsea and the surroundings for a lot less than one would pay in a fancy place. If you know your food come here and you won’t regret, the chef is a master, this place is worth a lot more than 5 Facebook stars. Just to give you some context, I travelled to 41 countries where I have eaten a lot of stuff and Croxton’s Southsea is impressive. Try everything, it’s amazing, I have tried half of the menu already and I haven’t been disappointed.
What a truly fantastic place, excellent food and an outstanding range of top drawer beers, keg, cask, can and bottle from the best craft beer producers in the country (and Belgium). This was my first visit, it certainly won't be my last. I'd give it 6 stars if I could �
Came for lunch, bit of a birthday celebration. It’s so refreshing to see a restaurant which is offering something different. Hard to choose, as so many interesting things on the menu. We had 2 small plates and a salad washed down with Prosecco which was sufficient for 2. The cauliflower tacos looked great so we’ll have those next time. Love the industrial interior. Highly recommend this place.
Great place. The staff are all friendly and accommodating, the surroundings lovely and the food devine!! I can't wait to make my way through the menu. Great vegetarian selection too.
Came for my 40th birthday and omg such amazing food!!! The steak is to die for as well as the The Islander cocktail
We came here on Father’s Day.4 adults and 2 small children. Ideal location, child friendly and efficient staff. Very good menu for both adults and children. (Kids menu).

Had dinner in here last night. Very welcoming staff, friendly atmosphere and great décor. Bar has a nice selection of drinks. Menu is so varied, which is handy for a group of people who all like different cuisines. Everyone really enjoyed their food - 2 Croxton's burgers and 2 cauliflower tacos ordered. Empty plates all round! Can't wait to return and try something completely different from their delicious menu. Well done to the whole team!!
Great food and excellent beer with a great atmosphere in the centre of Southsea. A brilliant addition to the thriving local craft beer landscape.

Came here for for first visit with a friend for lunch and had the coronation chicken on brioche. Very tasty and nice, creative menu. Definetly visiting again

Huge menu with plenty of choice. I had the cauliflower tacos and my partner had the oyster mushroom sisig. Both were delicious and decent portions! We had a side of chips which were fresh and crisp. They have a huge selection of drinks. They also do music nights. You can sit inside or out. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Would definitely recommend
I would give more stars if I could :) Lovely bar with a very pleasant decor, music, atmosphere, lovely staff and absolutely fantastic food! I ordered three tapas and each one was super delicious. Very good produce. I loved the halloumi fries which were perfectly crispy outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned with some really yummy toppings and herbs. Bao bun was very satisfying, super soft with some great flavours going on. I would really recommend, can't fault this place.
Exactly the type of food we needed after being out on the water all afternoon. Delicious small style plates (which weren't small at all!). Our favourite was the steak tapas, and the fish slider tapas. Nice casual place to eat and chilled out music.
Well worth the money you spend. The southern fried chicken tenders are amazing, the steak was excellent. Staff were very friendly and everything came quickly. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area
Croxton Restaurant in Southsea, Portsmouth exceeded my expectations with their Wednesday steak deal. The steak cooked to perfection, paired with the delectable salsa verde sauce, was a flavor explosion. But the real showstopper was the amazing fresh crunchy chips that accompanied the dish. Every bite was pure delight, with the perfect balance of crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The combination of the tender steak, vibrant salsa verde, and those irresistible chips created a dining experience I won't forget. Croxton Restaurant truly knows how to deliver a memorable meal. Highly recommended!
Great little bar & eatery. Nice place to grab a cocktail or something to eat in the evening. Strongly recommend the passion fruit mojito! Food looked incredible as it was coming from the kitchen.
Would have been a 5 star rating but unfortunately was not greeted upon arrival and staff did not seem very attentive.
Most excellent service. The young lady was very cheerful, positive, efficient & had a great rapport. They didn't have onion rings on the menu however, the waitress told the chef it was a Birthday & bless them both, onion rings were cooked fresh as can be, huge, refreshing & so tasty!. Places like this who go the extra mile are worth revisiting. Our first visit, food was most delicious, so fresh! Compliments to the magnificent chef & the kind, courteous young lady who served us at the bar and the table! What an incredible team those 2 are!!
The food was fantastic! It looked so pretty! I loved the music in this restaurant , and the owner of this restaurant was so nice to us! Would highly recommend!
My first time here, I didn't expect much from it, I thought it was just another chain pub. I was happy to find that croxton's is an independent. The food was absolutely delicious, well presented and worth it. Great atmosphere and very polite and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back again and tell all my friends about it , keep the great work team 👌

I have been there before but not to eat but this time we booked a table. I had the ultimate burger with pit beans that was tasty and filling.
The tables have enough space around them so you don't feel you're sitting too close to the adjacent tables and with music at a volume that you can hear it but it wasn't over powering.
