I have been a fan of Andre's for 25 years, I don't live in Portsmouth but visit Andres whenever I'm in southsea.
Sadly the last 2 times have been disappointing, I always get a seafood baguette with extra onion and seafood sauce, last time my partner brought it home for me I complained there was no extra seafood sauce.... he insisted he asked and figured perhaps they forgot and we left it at that.
He went and got me one on Monday (2 days ago)
Brought it home and same thing, was actually dry and hard to see any seafood sauce never mind any extra, same goes for the onion there was barely any.
The size of the baguette also bears mentioning as they have become much slimmer than they were, it's almost comical how skinny they are and considering its £5.30 I don't feel that it is value for money or worth the money.
I appreciate everyone's feeling the pinch but don't like being ripped off and sadly that's what I feel.
Saying that I still gave 4 stars as don't want to spoil they're rating over constructive criticism.
Great sandwiches and great measures for covid with everybody wearing masks and having plastic shield at the till when you pay. Chicken sandwich and brie and bacon sandwiches were wonderful! Caffe latte was ok and it felt a bit liquidy. If there is any no sugar option with oat milk alternative will help this more. Lovely staff as well!!
Really nice salad and pastry. Loads of choice. Just remember to read the menu instead of being dazzled with what’s on show!
Always friendly, fast service. The filled mini croissant selection is my go to.
We visited Andre’s food bar last Friday and chose three different salads which were all delicious, also bought a chocolate brownie which was lovely and gluten free, we wouldn’t buy lunch anywhere else now, always a friendly service every time we have been, looking forward to our next visit.
The Chilli Chicken, Cheddar & Jalapeños hot panini is great! The cakes are lovely too, highly recommended. Support our local businesses
Have lived in Portsmouth for over a decade and am truly disappointed with myself for not popping in before. Visited today and purchased two baguettes, a quiche and a garlic chicken salad. Each item was so delicious and flavoursome I'm already looking forward to my return visit. Also a very helpful and friendly staff member served me.
We had a lovely salad bowl of their garlic chicken with lots of fresh salad. Topped with a chilli mayo sauce. Also a pulled pork panini which was equally tasty and fresh. Great value at £9:50.
I returned my horrible stale Gregg's 'tuna crunch' for this delicious tuna baguette.
Freshly made with vegan butter to boot! Tuna mayo but not full of fat so healthy! I hope the recipe never changes

When the venue in-house caterers let us down for my late wife's funeral reception 48 hours before the event, one phone call to Andre's food bar and they stepped in at the last minute to provide a five star finger buffet for 60+ guests. My family and I cannot thank them enough for not only coming to our rescue at the eleventh hour but for also producing a buffet for us which I am certain would have been far superior to what the club had initially offered. I would recommend Andre's to everyone. Thank you
Always great food and great service from Andres. They often do specials which are lovely and their garlic chicken is delicious. A favourite of ours whenever we need to grab a quick bite whilst out and about or to take with us if heading on a day out. I do really miss their mini filled croissants though - they were a gem!
Staff always friendly. Food always fresh and tasty. Served quickly and prices reasonable. We had salad, quiche, tuna baguette, nuts, tea and cakes. All delicious, and the chocolate brownie was to die for.
This small local business has really taken off, the freshly baked French style baguettes with their fresh signature fillings, you can't go wrong. I live in the area and have used them for years, Andre is a lovely guy and he really is making the best of his family business.
Always extra nice and helpful staff makes my mornings such a great start of a day. And the baked goods... Just amazing! One of the best coffees in the area too. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed an Andres feast box this morning. It looked exactly like the photos and tasted delicious. It included a great selection of baguette fillings that pleased all our tastebuds. A great idea for a working lunch.
First time visiting and I had a wonderful hand filled baguette and brownie wasn't too sweet and made on site! Very covid-19 aware, everyone that was working was wearing masks and gloves. Really friendly service as well. All and all a very nice experience. 100 percent recommend!!
