So if you haven't booked anywhere else in Portree, this place is great. If you like Indian food, it's even better. In fact, the food is delicious. The staff are charming and helpful.
The manager however, is definitely rude and insists that you pay in cash.
The food is good though. I'd personally eat here again
Amazing food. We got a table without reservation. It was shortly before they closed but they still cooked for us. The food is very tasty with great flavours. Very pleased with everything!
The garlic nan was excellent. The lamb rezala over rice was absolutely delicious. The korma with chicken was very tasty. Nice dining room and excellent service.
The one star reviews on Taste of India are ridiculous. The food is delicious and it is so reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, straight shooting, each have their own role and execute it seamlessly.
It was the perfect end to a long hike day and I would absolutely come back here!
We got takeaway, was pretty easy to get vegan options. Tasty, well made food, would recommend.
Service in the restaurant was pretty poor though, they could easily improve their rating if they just took a tiny bit of effort with good hospitality practices, or even smiling rather than scowling at new customers. Weren’t rude, just not friendly in any way.
Not sure why the reviews are so negative - we had a great meal. Service was actually very good, and the food was of a reasonably high standard. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving some Indian food.
A taste of home in Europe. We are Malaysians living in Germany and have been missing good Indian food like we had in Malaysia. This place with its wide variety gave us a wonderful meal which was very affordable. You can only pay cash here but that was not a problem for us. We recommend anyone who has a craving for Indian food to come here.
If you are looking for a no fuss place that serves food after 8:30pm in the small town of Portree, it stands up. We had a vegetarian biryani, it was a pleasant surprise. Service isn't the best but it's a good spot for people who can crave for spices in the land of fish and chips.
The food was delicious and the owner was very warm. It’s a must recommend for everyone who’s interested in eating authentic Indian food. I have no clue why this place is rated poorly, because the food and the service was absolutely incredible. Loved it and I’ll definitely visit again here upon my next visit to portree
UNREAL food - honestly. I grew up with Indian food at home and thought this place was super authentic and delicious. Service was also great. May not be the fanciest restaurant but never judge a book by its cover! This place is TWO 👍🏽 up 😁
