We came across the Isle of Skye Baking Company at a craft fair stall. I really enjoyed the presto & cheese filled dough roll which I heated up later that day. We took gluten free cake & biscuits home for our daughters after a friendly chat that reassured us they were coeliac safe. They both loved them, 'these are great & don't taste or feel like sand!'. I had a lemon biscuit and had to agree, it had a nice strong lemon taste. Wish we could get some more often.

Best scones I’ve ever had! This bakery is owned by a cute family and we really had a lovely time there. You should definitely add it to your Skye bucket list!

Popped in for a picnic lunch. Both the crustless quiche and filled bread were absolutely delicious. Planning to call in again on our way back through Skye!

My friend and I stopped here for some quick lunch whilst on our trip around the Isle of Skye, so we didn't check out the upstairs which has an art gallery, but you could see some paintings on the wall on the ground floor where they serve the food. We both ordered the soup of the day which comes with bread. On this particular day it was leek and potato soup, which was mostly smooth with little chunks of potatoes, and it came with 2 slices of bread, one was brown bread and the other was corn bread, and a bit of butter on the side. This soup exceeded expectations — it was very yummy and the bread was fluffy. We also had 2 slices of cake, a coffee cake and a peanut butter cake. They were OK, but the peanut butter one was crumbly and the coffee one didn't taste as much of coffee as I'd wish. We believe most of the flavour was in the icing and not as much on the cake itself. As for the place, it was quite big and well decorated. They have a disabled bathroom that works as the women's bathroom, but I couldn't see a baby changing facility even though they had a corner where kids could play. They also don't have Wi-Fi available. But they do have a quite big car park. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Beware, it's difficult to see the sign post from the main road, so you need to be on the lookout for it.

Such a lovely place with very nice staff. The atmosphere is cosy and they change their cakes, breads and sweets quite often so you have to decide what to eat every time. The food is freshly baked every day and you can have a sneak peek into the kitchen. Very delicious scones, cakes, bannock and several kinds of bread with fillings. The also only use compostable tables and cutlery which is also nice. The art gallery upstairs is a sweet room filled with lots of handmade stuff like paintings, clothes or souvenirs. Definitely worth to walk through. We will go there as often as possible. Keep on the good work!

Best place in Skye for bread, pastry, coffee. they offered lunch also. There you can find so many artisanal typical products. Don't miss the art gallery at the 1st floor!

Great coffee, the stem ginger loaf cake was exceptional and the peatnut cookie was excellent too. Friendly service and lots of beautiful art prints for sale inside.

Great coffee and scones. Also picked up a quiche for our hike. They provided local advice on visiting the island to avoid the crowds as well.

Amazing food! The lunch breads are delicious! We love going here and looking around the arts and crafts but upstairs - lots of things being sold by local makers/artists. Great little place for food/drink/art!

We stopped in 3 times during our 4 days. Such lovely young women working there and amazing teas and shortbread. Loved the art upstairs as well (though I only got a tea towel). Love how we ordered 3 scones and they each came with a different jam..such fun to try them all! I purchased 2 for gifts :) High recommend this place!

We liked this place so much we visited it twice in the 3 days we were on Skye. The cheese board is quite substantial and comes with both oatcakes and a selection of delicious breads. The chutneys, salad and bread are also refillable for free. Coffee is decent and the cakes are delicious. There's a lovely art gallery and gift shop above the cafe as well which is worth a wander round.

One of the best flat white coffees to be had in Portree and upstairs is now open again so you can sit and enjoy your cake in a light and spacious area... The art work is pretty good too and parking is free - need I say more?

Excellent treats and breads. The gingerbread is fabulous, the peanut butter and chocolate tort is amazing. Warm atmosphere. Upstairs there is an art and craft gallery filled with paintings, woolen goods, stuffed animals for the kids (check out the cat dolls wearing kilts; you’re three-year-old will love one for a souvenir).

Great coffee and interesting “lunch breads,” but the service seemed a little cold and my wife wasn’t too smitten with the cakes. That might be an American palate thing - our cakes generally have more sugar and moisture. I loved the orange cake, but the chocolate one was super dense and not as sweet.

Lovely gallery upstairs with lots of light, and beautiful artwork and handmade items. The bakery downstairs smells wonderful, and the baked treats we bought were delicious. We also got gifts for family - shortbread, sauces, salt, a book, and some artwork. The staff were helpful and gave great suggestions for things to see and do while we were in Skye.
