Rosedale is one of the best places I have stayed . Their accomodation is absolutely a delightful blend of good taste and sparkling cleanliness . The people here do everything to make your stay comfortable , they add a touch of warmth in every interaction they have . It's like staying at a comfy home like welcomed guests!! I would infact rate this higher than most 5 star hotels I have stayed !! If you are visiting Portree you should stay at The Rosedale !

Incredible food. Probably one of the best meals iv ever had. Really good service. I’d recommend the trout to start and the strip joint for main!

We came here for dinner whilst visiting Skye and very glad we did. Our meal was of the highest quality, perfect portion size, with a delicious wine list. Very good value for high end dining in my opinion. Best wishes Deborah and Marc

My room was a lovely room with a fantastic view. When we arrived we had a wee dram and some tablet - a lovely touch. The staff were all very friendly and the food was of a very high standard . The pre-starter last night was a nice touch. Excellent breakfast choice this morning

4 of us dined here on Monday night. Food was fantastic. The lamb dish was outstanding, the goats cheese just made the dish. Highly recommend a visit.

Second visit here and just loved it. Great value for money considering you are given canapés and a pre starter before your actual meal. Was given mussels as the pre starter which was a surprise and I don't usually eat them but these were delicious. Then I had quinoa as starter hake main and chocolate dish for dessert. Just amazing food and gorgeous view over the harbour. Left feeling full but not uncomfortably so. Will def be back.

I can't rave about this hotel enough, check in was smooth, we were offered the most delicious tablet & a wee dram when we arrived. we were shown to our rooms by the receptionist which I thought was such a nice touch. The room was huge & spotless (room 4) it had a gorgeous 4 poster bed and a beautiful bathroom. We had a drink in the hotel bar and again everything is of such high quality. The gin was served in crystal glasses with a different slice of fruit depending which gin you go for. The breakfast was out if this world. All freshly cooked, a stunning view over the harbour. We were traveling with a 1 year old and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Can't wait to return to this hotel. Thank you Neil & your team

Food was absolutely gorgeous and staff were efficient and helpful. Heard a few people complaining about the price but when you take into account the canapés, pre starter and quality of food, it's well worth your money and I was more than satisfied afterwards. I had the scallops starter, monkfish main and the white choclate parfait desert and it was delish. Will definitely be back

The staff was extremely polite and attentive, they always noticed quickly when we were finished and asked several times if we wanted anything else. They also recommended some dishes and introduced them nicely. They also supported us in the decision if any sides are necessary or not. And the portions were very reasonably so the recommendation to share a side worked out perfectly. The sole with the sea salt was a little too salty and oily for me personally. The slow cooked lamb shank my husband had was extremely tender and really loosened by itself from the bone. Also a bit salty though. The atmosphere was very relaxing and elegant. We went there for another night and I had the salmon which was buttery soft and the seasoning was just right.

Nice little restaurant in Portree harbour. Very efficient server, and little waiting time for the food. We had the Salmon Gravlax which was nice but not extraordinary and the Seafood chowder which was quite enjoyable. As mains we had the chicken, which was a huge portion almost good to feed two people and tasty, and the venison, which was decent but not that much. No dessert, some beer and water totalled us £62. Not a particular atmospheric place, but more than decent food and good service.

Four stars for service is solely a reflection of their limited staffing, a global problem, so take with a grain of salt. Very limited menu but everything on it was excellent. We stayed three days so sampled most of it. Fish and chips is a standout in a country famed for the dish. Peter is old-school waitstaff. Made us feel like Scottish nobility.

We had a starter and then the seafood linguini and the fish and chips. Service was great, food was ok, its rather expensive but has a lovely view looking over portree port.

Got the hake fish risotto and the monkfish special. Both delicious and seemed fresh. Good view by the lakeside. Then got the highland cheeses with chutney - cheddar, blue and brie cheese selections. Would recommend booking ahead of time on their website.

After a couple of dinners I would like to point out this restaurant for its high happiness / price ratio. Excellent raw materials treated with care by a capable chef. A brilliant and empathetic maître and a location overlooking the bay does the rest. Appropriate price. Easy booking. A ray of sunshine even on rainy days that are too frequent on this beautiful island.

Really loved the monkfish here! The pea veloute on the bottom works perfectly with the fish - every bite was amazing. We also got the highland cheeses for dessert and got to try cheddar, brie and blue cheese. Overall great experience, though pricy.

A very talented chef is turning ordinary dishes into something special. The flavours are strong and may not appeal those who prefer more traditional food, but went far beyond my expectations. When we visited the cod was being served in a Thai style and to Michelin standard. It's a hotel, so the atmosphere isn't quite as intimate as some places, but the staff are very good. The prices are higher than some other places but the standard of food makes this good value.

Hidden gem in Skye. Menu is limited to only 3 choices per course, but the dishes are beautifully presented, well balanced and perfectly cooked. It is epitomy of modern cooking and Michelin star worthy without breaking a hole in your pocket. The roasted pork belly, pan fried chicken with corn puree and cod in aromatics Thai broth are just sublime. I had dinner on two different evenings and they do not disappoint. They brought a smile to my face.

Really delicious scallops and seafood chowder starters. The hake risotto was really cooked well. And the stick toffee pudding was nicely complemented with salted caramel, nice ice cream, moist and not too sweet.

Three servers and one at attention at all times means great service. Never had to ask as someone was always ready to help. Had no reservation but the front desk let me sneak up and I was seated at a window seat. Beautiful view of the bay and anchored boats from window. Children skipping stones. Sampled some Scottish Tampa's and settled for scallops and roast pork. Scallops in a lemon sauce were MELT in your mouth! The brocolli (which I usually dislike were delicious..go figure). The roast pork fillet was delicious perfectly complimented with a silky smooth pear sauce. "Neeps" were tender and tasty as was the roasted beet root!. Dessert was a sponge cake with poached pears and raspberry gel and a vanilla icecream on a granola mix with a meringue. I jokingly had offered to share the desset with my server but when it came I said she was on her own. It was too good to share..hehe. she was disappointed in a sweet way. Excellent meal and reasonably priced. I couldn't fault anything! Just wish I lived closer!

As an amateur cook, I have a high opinion of this dish. First of all, the monkfish in the monkfish braised rice is very well integrated into the rice. The scallops are also perfectly cooked. In addition, the addition of fried rice slices takes the surprise and wow of the dish to a new level.

Very nice food. Good service. But all Restaurants should have at least table sets to change. However a table cloth would be more hygienic than a wooden table cleaned with indefinable spray and cleaning cloth. Especially in these times.
