Came here for our first restaurant meal after Covid easing because it’s a new restaurant with excellent ratings.
We tried to order take-sways during lockdown but it was very hard to get through on the phone and the lead times when we did were over 2hours, so we didn’t.
It was easy to book a table by phone and had a choice of times.
We came on their second day of opening of the restaurant.
The welcome and customer service was excellent. A very good choice on the menu and Cobra on fraught - great!
We had mixed sharing starters and poppadoms which were excellent. Main courses were very well cooked and tasty.
The only downsides were that when I specifically asked for a medium (rather than mild) curry, I actually received a totally mild dish + the cutlery came out some time after the dishes arrived (rather than [normally] before with the plates).
The bill was £36 per person for 2 courses and drinks, which is okay.
Overall, we will be going back here as our ‘No.1’ Indian in the town based on experience today.
4 Adults, 2 Children (who love their food) went last Saturday early evening. The Staff were great, not 'pushing' drinks etc. Food was excellent too. Reading some negative reviews on here, I did wonder about some of the customers, who were actually loud and rude, so it is not all one sided on the negativity front. Will definitly go again....and again.
Visiting the area for a few days my husband and I decided to try this restaurant as we both enjoy Indian food. We were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and welcoming, we were seated quickly with drinks, poppadoms and chutney tray arriving soon after. Hub ordered a chicken karahi, me a chicken tikka sagwala and we shared a pilau rice and peshwari naan. The food arrived piping hot and was absolutely delicious. We both agreed our mains were perfectly cooked, rich in flavour and just the right amount of heat from the spices. The naan soft and squidgy. Portions were generous, I couldn't finish mine. We just had a soft drink each and the bill was very reasonable at just under £32. We will definitely be back to this restaurant next time we are in the area.
Great food and lots of vegan options. Ordered a takeaway with a range of curries and paratha. The food was delicious and delivery was quick. 5*
Have eaten here a lot and every meal has been great. Service for us has always been good and the staff helpful. That's why we keep going back.
Wow!...didn't think Portishead needed another Indian restaurant....but I was wrong! This place is another level. Spice Aroma and the Gahadi best just close their doors.
Fresh and full of flavour with a great service, let's hope they can keep up the hight standards....well done all at Vilsa
We had a takeaway delivered to Nailsea and for 8 people and it was beautiful! Highly recommend!

Really tasty food - a good variation on the standard Indian menu. The food was fresh, and the staff were really friendly. The restaurant was full too, when I went to collect, which is always a good sign! The only slight downside was the hour-long wait to collect our order... But it was a weekend, and that could be normal given how popular it is. We'd definitely use Vilasa again 👍🏽

Ate here for the first time last night and will definitely return. It could become my new regular. Good was delicious, generous portions and good value. Very busy with dine-ins and takeaways, always a good sign. Staff were attentive but not pushy and everything about it was excellent.
