Friendly staff. Food was as expected. A little annoyed that one guest asked for onions rings (which was incorrectly expected as part of the meal) and had to leave her meal go cold and go to the bar to order them. It would have been nice to have supplied them whilst she ate. But that's company policy I suppose, not staff fault. Nice premises. Ample parking (2 hour restricted but more can be added for free). All in all a good and quite pretty and spacious pub. Also a small outdoor area for the one day of Summer.

Maisey is an enthusiastic bartender and polite with customers. The Shipyard was in tip-top condition, better than the real ale I tried. The manager special was a mixed grill for 4.99, excellent value for money.

We called in to the Posset Cup for an early lunch and ordered on the phone using the Weatherspoon's app. It was our first visit. The meal and drinks were delivered promptly. The food was very acceptable and certainly good value for money. Although there were plenty of customers, the pub wasn't too busy and the atmosphere felt chilled and relaxed. The decor and furnishings were tasteful.

The service was great and the breakfast did not take long to come out but the beans were almost cold, this seems to be a trend with Witherspoon as we have had cold beans in the last three we have visited. As we are always there early it is not busy so this makes it even worse as the kitchen is not very busy. Apart from this little grip we do enjoy the rest of the breakfast.

A must see when visiting town. Fair prices. Great food. You can drink a cold, and stunning beer for less than 3 pounds. Great value for the money. Really enjoyed and... You can find the same brand all over UK, recommended indeed.

I'm not averse to a slightly less than positive review of a spoons. If you look back at my previous reviews you'd probably conclude I never came across a pub I didn't like since I rate them so highly (what can I say - you go there for a drink so you're already happy before you set foot in them). So, with all the obvious positives of JD's not needing to be overworked yet again (cheap beer, refills, cheaper food, etc) let me explain why I knocked a shiny off them today. And don't judge me for picking on small stuff here - it's death by a thousand paper cuts. I rushed in to use the toilet. Three non-functional taps and the one that did work soaked my sweater so much that I looked like Darcy emerging from the lake. No hot choc in the drinks machine. Food was delivered so swiftly that only the lord knows how it got so cold by the time it was placed in front of us (was our table a time machine that allowed us to order our food an hour previously?). I didn't like the view (I know - but a Lidl and a building site is a far cry from many a grandly placed spoons). And - and - if you walk from the marina and cut through the 2 large blocks of flats, where you cross is a slidy patch of muddy grass. You'll say walk down to the crossing but all it needs (all it needs!) is a small lowering of the kerb and a couple of slabs. Told you it was minor. But like I mentioned above - at 1.71 for a pint of IPA it's hard to be too critical - I went out last night in Bristol and paid 7.50 for a pint of cider - a mere 4.4x more costly.

Always great food when I've been there and today wasn't any different and it was delivered in no time atall, nice and warm with its fire roaring away in the centre of the place, and of course it was nice and clean, with plenty of tea and coffee if you want it, shame a couple of tables weren't cleared quickly but that didn't spoil the atmosphere. Tried a new thing for breakfast today it was a nice bacon and egg muffin.

Great location near the harbour, large free car park for 2 hrs. Food good value. Very popular so may struggle to get a table during busy times.

Excellent food. Good prices. Some menu choices includes a drink either alcoholic or non alcoholic. Everywhere clean, but table staff need to check the cleanliness of the menus when they clean the tables as the one I had was really messy and sticky.

Nice food, decent prices and friendly staff who were seriously rushed off their feet but still happy to serve with a smile. Only complaint, female toilets had 3 out of order and it stunk of sewerage in there. Apart from that, the place was clean and pleasant surroundings.

We been coming here for a number of years and noticed more recently some of the new staff and female managers see to have rather bad attitude towards customers and other staff One member of staff always stands out as being most helpful and polite namely netty. The male supervisor that’s was on today 21/10/23 was very helpful and professional

Brilliant meal, used their app to be served. The serving staff were extremely busy but very polite. Meal didn't take long to arrive the barriers put up due to social distancing made having a meal out much more personal. A thoroughly enjoyable evening

Curry Night . Plenty of chicken in the curry , very tasty with nice rice . The name bread was chewy & too much for me . Poppadoms were ok but would have preferred the chutney in the small dish rather than a plastic bottle !!

This is one of the more modern Wetherspoons, it's on a retail park with free parking for a limited time. I liked the inside of the pub, lot's of photos on the walls of local historical scenes, and an explanation of the background of the pub name. Based on local language.
