Wednesday 12th july 2023 wife(wheelchair user) and I had a kids free night, and after looking around, we found this quaint little place. The menu looked good for the various GF and dairy free food. An accessible ramp to gain access and plenty of space to move around. Staff helped us with the menu and let us know what could be changed for dairy free alternatives. My wife had the prawns and myself the pork belly starters with a katsu curry sauce. My wife loved the prawns, and the pork belly was one of the best I've eaten. Onto our mains, we both had the meatball pasta wife had the GF pasta option and had sides of the millionaire fries and garlic fries and some GF breads, all of which tasted wonderful. Staff were friendly and inviting, and happy to answer any questions about the food. Portions were good-sized, and we had to take a doggy bag with us with the bread and some of the meatball pasta.

Very well priced and tasty special for lunch. Lemonade tasted a bit strange and I wasn't happy that there were no not-low-sugar coke options as I can't stand aspartame fake sugar taste. Generally, and I may be being unfair since it used to be a bank, it lacks atmosphere, but if you want a tasty, quick lunch I recommend it.

We had a really lovely meal at Y Banc, the food was delicious, nicely presented, with generous portions, but all four of us managed clean plates at the end! It's definitely worth saving some room for a dessert, the sticky toffee pudding and cheese cake were homemade (both gluten-free) and very yummy. The staff were helpful and friendly even though the restaurant was quite busy (booking a table is highly recommended) but the service was relaxed, not hurried, so don't expect to be in and out quickly, however we just enjoyed the time to chat.

Wonderful food, really excellent find for the area. Brilliant flavours, generous portions, kind and caring staff. Buzzy atmosphere and really delicious wine. We had a Rioja that was delicious with the porky dishes we ordered. The pork belly dish was sooooo good!!

We visited the newly opened ‘Y Banc’ in its first few days of opening. The restaurant bring new life into Porthmadog, with stylish surroundings and a different way of dining. We had a sneaky peek and saw the private dining area which is the refurbished strong room, complete with a giant safe and original banking signs. We had a table for two and had the gorgeous bread appetisers along with the pan con tomate, which is one of my favourite dishes when we go to Spain. To follow my partner had black pudding and beetroot toquitos, marinated beef steak and Menai mussels which he said where to die for. We shared mushrooms and patatas bravas. I had the vegetable paella, smoky chick peas and tandoori spices cauliflower with homemade mango chutney. We were rather full, but we did leave room for desserts, namely churros with chocolate sauce and the lime mousse. I have dietary requirements and I am pleased to say, the menu was clearly labelled and the staff happy to answer questions as to allergens. We pop down to Porthmadog fairly regularly, so this will make a nice change from the usual pub grub when we get into town.

Absolutely outstanding sunday lunch. Perfectly seasoned and freshly prepared produce on the premises. Hats off to the chef who clearly understands flavour and flavour combinations. Really cannot fault it. Staff were lovely and also knowledgeable on what they are serving, describing precisely how the chef made a particular dessert. Y Banc is definitely one to watch.

We went last night to celebrate our anniversary. We were blown away by the food. It was just amazing. I had baked camembert to start. I've had it before but this was next level. It was accompanied by hot freshly baked bread. It was heavenly. My only complaint would be that it was so good ( I'm still fantasising about it today) that I can see that I'll only ever want to order this from the starters list and may never try anything else! My main course was the sea bass and black pudding served with new potatoes, samphire and broccoli: pictured. Again it was mouth watering. I polished every last bit of it off. My husband had the halloumi fries followed by the tomahawk steak with tomatoe mushrooms and chips with a pepper sauce on the side. My son had nachos followed by the child's Margherita pizza. The pizza itself looked suspiciously like a small Chicago town deep dish pizza but the chips were huge crispy slabs of potato and he loved the fact that they were presented in a "cage" 🤣 in reality a basket. Clean plates all round. We are definitely a dessert kind of family but we were all so satisfied and full that for the first time ever we walked away without ordering a sweet. The restaurant itself is simply but nicely decorated and the staff were great and attentive throughout. We will sooo be coming back. If for no other reason than to try that dessert menu!

Neat place to go to for lunch and enjoyed the surroundings of being a converted bank with what looked like the original vault door being retained. However we had an issue with overcooked camembert to the point where it was solid. Also service charge was automatically included, this was just for the two of us.

After 8pm on a Saturday night, this was the only place still serving food. Had the vegetarian Wellington, which was a delight. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
