Lovely restaurant in Porthleven serving Italian food with a Cornish seafood twist.
The seafood linguine was standout, mackerel starter also very good. We went in the off-season and it was still busy so it’s well worth booking ahead.
Porthleven harbour looked great at nighttime, lit up with multicolour lights.
Couple of things letting it down from 5 stars: one main was a little cold when it came out and the atmosphere could have done with a bit of something.
We had our wedding reception at Amelia's and it was the most amazing evening we could ever have asked for. The venue was decorated beautifully (as well as the incredible location) and the staff took so much time to listen and support us through the whole process. We tried all of our dishes before hand, and we loved every single one, especially that the food and drink has such a local feel. Every single guest was so so impressed by the food - which was brought out quickly and tasted absolutely amazing! The service was second to none, and we are so grateful to every single person at Amelie's who made everything come together. Would recommend it to anyone, and will always hold a special place in our hearts! Thank you so much
We had a wonderful evening meal here and were made very welcome by staff. Willow the dog was welcome too. Food was amazing, especially the Porthleven fish dish, (halibut) melt in the mouth, surf and turf was excellent, along with the pizza and risotto.
Smokey honey and chilli roasted nuts was a great little starter.
Topping out with the Maraschino cherry, white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake was just amazing. Loved it all, thanks to the staff again and hence our 5* recommendation to others.
A warm and friendly approach from original booking to the conclusion of the meal.
We were all made to feel very welcome including the dogs. The staff were amazing and very efficient. The food was delightful, served promptly and hot. As we were celebrating my mothers birthday they ensured her desert had Happy Birthday written on it and all the staff sang to her.
Later on I received a phone call from the restaurant to inform me I had been overcharged. I was asked to check the bill but hadn’t but they ensured I was contacted and reimbursed. Whilst waiting in the restaurant and speaking with the team there, it was explained why there had been a slight delay on the deserts. It had been down to the team getting the wording correctly. Quality mattered and the presentation important. I believe this says a lot about a high quality establishment.
Difficult one to review. Not quite as good as ones like the nearby The Square, but a little cheaper so that's fair.
The food looked lovely, not just ours but every plate that came out. Staff were friendly and professional. Portion sizes were decent and the freshness of the food was evident. I would have liked a crispier batter on our fritto misto, it was a bit..soggy, but other than that the food was very good.
A few things bring it down from 5 stars in my opinion. It took a few minutes for anyone, including us, to be welcomed as the albeit pleasant waitresses seem to rely heavily on one lovely member of staff. She was onto everything, but seemed rushed off her feet. We weren't offered the nice window seats despite these being available, it seemed that those who knew the staff got priority, but maybe its just bad luck.
Dogs were welcome here, they surrounded us. We like dogs, I love them, but at a nice restaurant I'm not a fan. Nowhere on the website does it make it clear this is a dog friendly restaurant. Lots of customers feeding them from their plates next to us, it just spoils the atmosphere a little. It's not a country pub.
Not big issues, but not 5 stars either. Worth a look in spite of them, this has a lot to recommend it.
Love this place, very tasty food, not cheap but worth it once in a while, epic location and atmosphere
We really didn’t know what or where to eat, so we popped in
WOW AMAZING
We were greeted and asked where we would like to sit, we chose to sit in the sun room overlooking the harbour.
My wife had steak and I had local caught hake
And it was very very good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our over all impressions of Amelie was fantastic so much so we have booked Dinner for bank holiday Monday 31 08 23
Very tasty food. Nice friendly staff and a great location in the harbour. Sunday roast is very nice and seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection. Leave room for the desserts. Highly recommended and we will return.
A lovely Sunday Lunch , window table so the superb view made up for the slightly slow service ( not an issue ).
Sirloin beef was perfect as was the belly pork , lovely roasted vegetable, Yorkshire Pud and roast potatoes. Failed badly on the crackling! but really was an excellent meal in a lovely setting .
Absolutely beautiful location, matched by beautifully fresh, delicious food! The oysters were outstanding, the lemon sole special I had for a main was fresh and full of flavour and my daughter actually ate all of her fish, chips and peas (except the bit of fish I tasted, and even that was fresh and delicious!). Very welcoming for myself and my toddler as well as a few pups who were visiting on the day. Highly recommend and already look forward to going back again!
Lovely restaurant serving a range of dishes but with a definite seafood emphasis. The seafood pizza was delicious and the seafood linguine was divine. Fantastic views across the harbour from the conservatory with attentive and friendly service. Also welcoming to well-behaved dogs.
Was recommended and was well worth the visit. Book first as busy.
I had Cornish mussels and Bouillabaisse, both delicious but I could not finish all of it.
Child and dog friendly.
One word - fantastic.
This is a wonderful fish restaurant that also serves non-fishy dishes like risotto, steak and burgers.
We ate as a party of four, three fish lovers and a non fish eater and all three meals were superb. Lovely tasting fresh food and a great selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
The service was excellent with very friendly waitresses who did all they could to help and were very knowledgeable about the meals and the Ingredients.
The food arrived in good time and the timing between courses was spot on.
Dogs are welcome too.
We would happily recommend this restaurant but advise to book in advance as it was busy during our visit.
Easily our favourite restaurant in Porthleven. Brilliant service, fresh food & great atmosphere!
Great Sunday meal here, made perfect by two jazz musicians playing Django Reinhardt - they could really play! The food was very well cooked and tasty. Portion sizes were just right.
Only improvement could be a good spring clean - sticky tables , sticky doors to toilets , drinking glasses needed another clean too.
The red wine by the glass was particularly good.
Wow!!! The food was amazing. I never tried Cornish oysters before. They were served with lemon and shallots vinegar. I loved them. The pizzas were very tasty and the view was amazing. Staff were very friendly. We took our two labrador retrievers and they were fine under the table. 5 stars and you deserved even more if possible. Thank you. We will return soon.
