Just eaten the most delicious crab sandwich ever. Freshly baked bread, delicious flavoursome crab, lovely view of harbour and friendly staff. Can’t recommend enough for a lunchtime treat. Can’t wait to come back in June. If you’re heading down this way you must stop off. Porthleven is also very pretty.
Had our 3rd wedding anniversary dinner at The Square last night. What an incredible meal. Every course was superb. Staff were lovely and we had a lovely window table with a view of the harbour.

Had starters and desert whilst there. Starters was the mackerel and the open crab sandwich which were done to perfection, excellent quality produce did the talking. The deserts were to die for. Strongly recommend the sticky ginger pudding and the creme brulee! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Next time I'm down in Cornwall on holiday I will definitely make time to go there.
Well have eaten in some fantastic places ....but this was above & beyond ....great food ...fantastic staff ...lovely atmosphere ...would highly recommend ...give it a go if you get chance ...definitely will book again !!
We were at The Square last night for our Friends Anniversary Meal and it was delicious - quick service - amazing food and location to die for. We will be back - I loved ever course especially the chocolate orange sorbet - who knew � - Thank You xx
Great place to eat and now they do a senior lunch on Thursday ! Amazing value £10 for 3 courses yum yum ! Fantastic waitresses , friendly, helpful with a smile for everyone .

Crispy blue cheese aranciniThe starter was sensational. The arancini is a typical dish from Sicily and I ate them many times in the biggest Italian island, so I didn’t expect to have the best Arancini of my life in the middle of Cornwall! Surprise: this was indeed my best Arancini. The recipe is a revisited version of the sicilian traditional one, transforming a good dish to extraordinary.
Had lunch at the Square today,read all the hype rosettes michilen recommendations and believe every word. Briock a local Cornish chef prepared for me one of the best meals l have had for a long time.All served by very able and competent staff, in a pleasant harbour side venue. If you’re in Porthleven or West Cornwall well worth making a detour for, better ring and book gets very busy .
These pics don’t do the food justice. 100% get yourself down The Square if you want some very tasty grub. I had the venison steak, medium rare. Absolutely beautiful. The salmon starter was delicious too. And took a pic of the wines I had which were solid. Especially the Vinho Verde. Great service to top it off.

Perfect for relaxed high-quality dining. We had a lovely lunch. They deserve their Michelin status. Interesting food that tastes so good you want to keep eating it forever. Friendly staff and a nice welcoming ambience at this pleasant location looking out towards the harbour.
Such a great menu and chef, amazingly presented and all of the flavours complimenting each other perfectly. I was very happy paying the bill at the end because the quality of the food was so high.
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, perfect service. This is a lovely atmospheric little restaurant on the harbour front with views out at the harbour. The starter was a perfect combination of spicy Asian slaw and tempura prawns with pork and the flavours combined perfectly. The belly pork main with hog roll and lentils and crackling was simply delicious and everything was beautifully cooked and full of flavour.
We had a lovely meal here last night. Heritage tomato dish for starters, which was so very tasty I would double it up as a main and a chicken dish for main which was absolutely delicious. Very friendly efficient staff and a lovely atmosphere. We’ll certainly be going back. Thank you.
The food was good quality. A small venue a bit packed in for my liking. Close to the Quay. I think when the weather is better, and the doors are open, it would probably have a better feel. There is outside seating.
We stayed in Porthleven for a week and ate out most evenings. We had an excellent meal and experience at The Square and it was our favourite meal out during the week. The food was really tasty, the staff were excellent and the room / atmosphere was cosy and just right. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Our favourite local restaurant. Consistently good food. Fish was cooked to perfection which is often hard to find. Service was great really efficient again not easy to find
The only small improvements could be to the interior more cosy lighting, higher standard of artwork, decoration & ambiance
