Love this place. Fantastic food, great portions, friends had pizza and I had a burger on first visit. None of us could finish our main courses as were massive. Set menu Was such good value. Second visit friends had roast dinner and me and partner had a steak and mushroom pie which was massive and vet tasty Glad I booked tables both times as this place was heaving ... Will definitely go back again and recommend.

Well worth a visit. Went there quite by chance but will definitely be returning. We had the sticky starter to share and the trio of meat. Both reasonably priced and great value for money. All the food was well cooked and very tasty and plentiful. The staff worked hard and were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

We had a lovely late lunch here with our dog. We had 3 courses from the set menu and all was lovely and amazing value. Best salt & pepper squid in a long time, lovely main courses and perfect crème brulee for after. Cornish Orchards cider was the best cider in years too. Fantastic staff and very clean. For an accidental find for a late lunch we really landed on our feet!

Our waitress was lovely, and really polite and courteous. The food was delicious and up to the standard of the Priory. My only suggestion would be that regardless of what front of house staff are doing, it would be nice if they simple great customers when they first arrive before continuing with what they were doing. Rather than leave arriving customers to wait until front of house had finish what they were doing. A simple…’Hello, welcome…I’ll be with you in one minute’ would be all that was needed. Just a suggestion. The Priory never disappoints.

Booked a last minute table for lunch for 8 of us. We have been using The Priory for years and the food has always been good. Service was great and our waitress was lovely. The meals didn’t disappoint, the veg was only just warm but still good. Our only quibble were the prices. I understand the cost of living has risen but £3.75 for a Coke, £6 for a lager and £17.50 for 2 wines with an extra £1.90 for a small dash of lemonade in each seemed ridiculous. We love this pub but will think twice if nipping out for a spot of lunch in future due to the prices. Apart from this little moan I would recommend

Pork belly for Sunday roast was absolutely delicious! Pork, gravy and side dish of cauliflower cheese were piping hot. The plated veg was only warm. Waiting staff was lovely, attentive without being intrusive and had good knowledge of beers available. Lovely decor, good seating, very busy and I can see why. Would score 5 except the meet and greet person was a bit shouty and could be heard across the restaurant.

Easy parking. A warm welcome from your staff a clean and warm interior with plenty of room between tables. The meals were served promptly the only issues was some sweets were not available.

Went on a promotion day *40% of mains* Meals were good for the 5 of us although the chicken dish was a bit drier than last visit. ×2 Pork x1 Fish and chips x1 Rib eye x1 Chicken forestiere And served with garlic bread and drinks. Good few hours out in the early evening, enjoyable and good service. Very good value with the offer, well worth it.

Visited with family for afternoon food. They accommodated us no problem as we had not booked and young lady took care of us. Very attentive and great service. Nice atmosphere . Great selection of drinks and the food is to die for. Had the pork belly which I could have had again as a dessert. Definitely recommend if you want quality food at reasonable prices. Plenty of parking. One evenings and weekends recommend booking as the tables get booked up

Lovely meal and drinks for five. Both food and drink quality was excellent. Restaurant was spotlessly clean and the friendly, accommodating young lads gave us a great service. Highly recommend the calamari for starters and the mini puddings with coffees is a great idea. Could not fault anything.

Saturday night for a group of seven after a successful day at the Portishead Summer Show. Tyler looked after us with faultless service supported by the kitchen team, no complaints on the food from anyone in our party. Slight surprise that the alcohol free cocktails cannot be served to under 18's and I would ask that this group policy be reviewed as it was the only disappointment. Large car park with an electric car charging point is handy. Looks like there is outdoor space front and back which we can explore on our next visit. We plan to return for Sunday lunch very soon.

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening. Good food and relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly efficient service. Also very welcome first aid for my finger, which I'd injured on my way to the pub!

Lovely venue somewhat hidden away in the small Village of Portbury, but glad we found it. Staff were great, really approachable, friendly and polite, as was the very helpful 'landlady'. Service was fast and efficient, food was delicious and piping hot, good sized portions. Nice selection of lagers on draught, plenty of taste choices, very impressed. I had a quick look at the wine list and there seemed plenty of choice. Will definitely pop in again when in the area, or even just passing as it's got easy access to the M5 Southbound and Northbound at Junction 19. I downgraded the atmosphere rating as we were unlucky enough to have a very young children on the next table with a Dad that thought hyping them up would be ok with everyone 🤦 Not the staff's fault, but The Priory isn't the type of venue for younger children, a 'Brewers Fayre' it is not!

Spent a very nice couple of hours here recently on a Sunday, opted for the beef roast, and requested the beef be as rare as possible, thinking it would just be 'a standard beef dinner' but no, I was presented with a pair thick, moist, tender and nicely medium/rare slices of beef. The accompanying veg was hot and plentiful, as was the gravy. The place has only recently had a refurbishment so all was spick and span. Plus the fact we had a very attentive young lady looking after us all added up to me wanting to return in the not too distant future.

We like visiting The Priory as a convenient pit-stop either before/after travelling via Bristol airport or visiting my daughter who is in university in Exeter. Having pre-booked a table a couple of days before, to stop off after travelling back from Exeter to South Wales, we arrived just after 6pm for a 6:15pm booking. We were greeted pleasantly by the gentleman behind the bar who took our booking details. As it was such a beautiful evening, we asked to sit outside, which was arranged without a problem. We ordered drinks and found a table in the front garden. Apart from a few items being unavailable / sold-out due to the weather being so beautiful after a long spell of very poor weather and after a busy Sunday lunch sitting, the food was, as usual, very tasty and our visit very enjoyable.

Service was very slow, had to wait 1h for food to come. Very extensive menu loads to choose from. However it’s still standard pub meal better presented so nothing too special. Overall nothing to rave about but comparing to pubs charging similar price in the area, it’s decent and we’d go back again. The manager didn’t seem very friendly but the lady who served was nice.
