The Port Askaig Restaurant - Port Askaig - Photo album

Just spent seven nights with a work colleague while carring out maintenance at a nearby distillery. We were made most welcome by the owners and staff. Marion, Ian and staff were a hive of local information and help which was greatly appreciated. The selection and quality of food was excellent. Over
Just taking the ferry out, stopped in at the store, but limited selection (not surprising for the location). Nice grounds for waiting for ferry though. Enjoy it!
Five stars as you get what you pay for. Which is 400-year-old family run hotel on the shore of an island on the Hebrides. If your idea of contentment is a travel lodge please look further. Character & panache aplenty. The full Scottish breakfast will set you up for the day and I kid you not I’ve see
Lovely pub with very welcoming hosts. They prepared a vegetarian meal especially for us. The bar area is dog friendly.
Stayed here for 3 nights about 12 months ago. Marion and Ian, the proprietors were absolutely fantastic, as were all the staff. Room was clean, nice and comfortable overlooking the harbour. Food in the restaurant and breakfast room was excellent (you won't leave hungry). I will go back, although the
Not sure what the 1 star reviewers are expecting. The hotel has the right atmosphere. Marion is the perfect host to have a fun evening with. The food was great. If you're expecting a presidential suite and white tablecloths, you might be really disappointed. I can only recommend to others and I woul
Great bar and hotel. Enjoyed a meal and drinks watching the six nations with very friendly bar staff and owners. Food and drink was great and very reasonably priced. Room was comfortable, clean and warm!
We recently stopped at the Askaig Hotel, Old Port Bar before getting the ferry back to the mainland. The selection of whisky is rather incredible, and it was a great chance to try some rarer drams at a time when the distilleries which produce them were not open to visitors. Marion, who was manning t
We had an amazing outdoor meal last Wednesday evening (14th October) by fire pit!! The burger I had was homemade and tasted brilliant - the best burger I've had in a long time! My husband and sons also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The service was good - we felt very cared for. It was great to mee
Spent a couple of hours there because ferries never went as scheduled. Kids had mac&cheese and burgers. We had various seafood dishes and they were all very good! (i think) The owner who served us was very friendly and attentive. So if you are stuck at askaig, haste there and get a table and order a
Stayed with friends in a total of three rooms recently. Very nice people. Staff and owners most pleasant and genuinely welcoming. A welcome blend of local working people and island visitors. Rooms are good but the best things here are the people, the bar, the snug and the breakfast. You will not go
Popped in for a quick bite while hubby and I were waiting on the ferry. We ordered a cheesburger each, chips and a side salad to take away. Burgers were very nice as were the chips salad, wasn't that great but was fresh. Staff behind the bar were lovely and friendly. Kitchen was very busy that night
We went in waiting for the ferry and ate some wonderful scallops - lovely food and roaring fire. Good bunch of staff! Great! Just went back again in September and the staff were very accommodating..we arrived as the kitchen was closing and they rumbled up some fish and chips for us. We returned the
Amazing dinner. Cannot recommend the seafood platter enough (the Cullen Skink and Sticky Toffee Pudding were also very tasty). Both the owners and chefs were really really friendly and the chefs exceptionally gifted! Cannot wait to return.
Visited here for the Islay festival and was blown away by the food and atmosphere of this place. Arrived a couple of hours before booking opened and was directed to the drinking area by a lovely lady called Marion for a couple of drams to recover from the long (and sleepless) drive up from Bedford.
While waiting for the ferry we had a drink and the cheeseburger. I was pleasantly surprised since they are in a position to do the high price low effort thing. But they don't. The price is alright and the burger was tasty. The service is fast and friendly and of course the small harbor ambiance outs
Charming hotel with friendly and attentive staff. The pub is delightful with an amazing selection of whiskies. The food here is much better than it needs to be (we had breakfast and dinner here every day of our stay). Perfect location right at the Port Askaig ferry and bus stop.
We visited just for dinner while wait for the ferry. Their appearance and space are not so cool but their local scallop dish is so lovely. The ingredients are so fresh and rich. And cooking was perfect. We only had just one dish but can expect the other seafood dish will be the best also.
