Friendly pub and one of the few open and serving food on a Monday night. Good selection of real ales. Had a nice evening there.

Food was excellent, service was a little slow and we had 2 round tables in the corner for a party of 4 which meant we spent the whole meal sitting awkwardly. The food and friendly owner made up for this to some extent. Definitely will visit again but will request a proper table next time and we'll visit when the weather is warmer.

Has changed hands since last there in May but have to say its not changed in quality of food, beer and atmosphere. The only visible change are the toilets which was a well overdue. Good luck to the new owners and keep up the good work 👍

Booked a lunchtime table for our anniversary. We had been before at Christmas. The bar room was cosy with a lovely fire burning. We went through to the conservatory and picked a table. Love the decor in there. We went through to the next room to get our carvery. We had 2 good slices of the meat of our choice (turkey, beef or pork) a sausage, yorkshire pudding and as much veg as you desire. It was all very hot and tasty. At a good price of £5.95. We then had a choice of 6 delicious desserts for only £2 each. I had strawberry gateau and cream and was surprised when I got 2 slices. Beautiful. The waitress was friendly. Thoroughly recommend

A very friendly pub on a busy road. A warm welcome to regulars and visitors providing outstanding food, all made for an enjoyable visit. Seating was available in two bar areas or in a roomy conservatory round the back with a beautiful garden outside.

We were at The Dove, Poringland on Sunday for The Trekkers Christmas walk and lunch. After a lovely walk in the area we were very ready for our yummy carvery here. There was so much choice, four meats and a variety of vegetables plus a variety of desserts both hot and cold for an amazing price of £9.95 for the carvery and £4.50 for a dessert! Such good value and good hot food. The pub is a really traditional country pub with a beautiful log fire! The staff were friendly and helpful and we even had a visit from Santa!! A good place to go for a cosy pub lunch in the Countryside.
