This is our 3rd time back in 2 years. The food and service never disappoints! Great selection of well thought out veggie options. Higher standard than average pub food. Friendly staff, cosy wood burners, a great place to relax and enjoy after a day walking.

Booked last minute last night and the staff couldn't have been greater, chap behind the bar was very friendly, took a pint to my room which was very nice and well kept. Lady showed me to my room was very pleasant too. I'll definitely be back.

Great pub with great food and welcoming atmosphere. The stand out is its provision of decent gluten free bread for their sandwiches. So many places just give you mediocre bread. The Sun Inn has got it spot on. My wife was so pleased, so thank you Sun Inn for doing the right thing and making sure people who eat gluten free eat just as well as the rest of us - and why not! It’s the way should be. Everyone else, take note! I must add the other 2 parts of the sandwich had been eaten, the portion was much bigger than the picture and it was great value too!

Very tasty food at a decent price in a cosy atmosphere when inside. It has a nice outdoor area with an ideal play area for the children.

Stopped by after a couple days hiking and camping for some well needed food which was excellent and came quickly. The landlord pulled a proper good pint too, so good I had to have 2

We are currently hiring a holiday cottage in Pooley Bridge and have popped in every day so far and had lunch here today and was what I expected, really great quality, all 3 of us really enjoyed the food, great beer too, we want to give special mentions to Rebecca, Gordon and Andy who make you feel welcome and more importantly value your custom, much appreciated and keep up the great work guys.

Very welcoming staff. Nice and cosy traditional pub with the log burner blazing away. The steak pie was absolutely stuffed with quality tender steak. One of the best I've had and a very generous portion. Would definitely return 👍 And I did return! 12 months later for seconds 😁 The lamb shank is just as good as the steak and ale pie. Busy with a great atmosphere and prompt service.

First time I've stayed at the Sun Inn as I've been a local until last year. The rooms pleasantly surprised me. Very clean, well furnished, sound proofing from the road is great, breakfast is amazing...can't fault the place at all. We will be back with our dogs soon. Great work 👍🏻

Lovely location with a large beer garden to eat and drink in. We had our meal in the garden and the food was lovely. The rooms are comfortable and clean and our bathroom was very nice. A little noisy from the hallways as people passed, but the same in most old buildings.

Great pub and friendly too. The food was amazing. I recommend the fish pie, I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever had . There is a choice of beers that are well kept. The staff are great.

Beautiful location, service was excellent. There was a very warm welcome and the food was excellent. We had just done the mighty hijes marathon the previous day and were looking for a Sunday roast. This one couldn't be faulted. We were staying elsewhere, so I can't comment on the rooms. Overall we all said we'd go back happily. Thank you for such a lovely lunch.
