A jolly pub with good vibes - family friendly and right on the sea front.
We stopped here for a quick drink after our fish and chips. We perched outside in the front and it was a good atmosphere with some music. Didn’t try the food as we’d just eaten but I’d say the vibes both inside and out were of a jolly nature.
In terms of service - it must’ve been a stroke of misfortune that I encountered a trainee bar maid. When asking for a pint of Beaver Town - she gave me a pint of Green Kings IPA… I know this is a Green King pub chain but come on… from what I could see though the staff were on top of all orders so I’ve decided to give 4 stars overall.
We took a short day trip to Bournemouth Beach and then to Poole Quay for a walk along the quayside and a meal.
Among several pubs, Jully Sailor looks much cleaner and better.
Another important point is that it was dog 🐕 friendly and we could enter with the dog.
The environment seemed calm and family.
They were very friendly and lovely.
The price of the food was excellent, the quality and service was very satisfactory.
We had a little delay in the preparation of the food, but it was worth the wait for the preparation.
The beautiful view of the Quay and quiet environment with great food and cool drinks was a great experience for us.
Amazingly relaxed and allowed dogs. Very friendly, great hosting, loved our roast. Best Yorkshire puds ever. Thank you, will be back
The sports entertainment, especially the Rugby World Cup coverage is fab. The food is great too….what more can you ask for at the quayside.
The staff are really attentive to everyone and the kitchen keep rolling out the food.
A great team effort with a great leader who keeps the riff-raff in line, which keeps everyone amused by his calm and controlled manner.
Roll on the next 4 x days of rugby 🏉🍺
We went to watch rugby world cup final. Food excellent. Really sorry to have missed pudding. I left it too long and the kitchen had closed!
Sound in our area wasn't good at all.
Partisan crowd SA won
We visit Poole Quay a lot and we have never visited the Jolly Sailor before until today! We were so impressed, the food was really good, and large portions , the nachos were the best we have ever had , burgers were fantastic and the children were really well catered for. It was a very hot and very busy day but we couldn’t fault the lovely and friendly service of the staff , great selection of beer , wines etc. We will definitely be back
Stopped at the Jolly Sailor for some lunch outside since the weather has been so nice. We had a small wait while tables were being cleaned and turn around, but in the sunshine it wasn't an issue. Once seated you will have to have the app downloaded to order. This might be an issue for less tech savvy individuals, but I'm sure the very helpful staff would give you a hand. Our food and drinks were lovely!
Pretty good pub on The Quay, a couple of Greene King beers on tap, food offering is popular.
My chicken was a little overcooked but apart from that was nice, my partner had the burger and he enjoyed it, all staff where friendly and they are dog friendly. The staff brought over a bowel of water for our dog as well. Overall a good meal.
Best place on the quays, been here twice since working away, the family feast sharer is 10/10 and the katsu chicken burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had at a reasonable price so cheap for what it is, amazing, the staff are amazing and friendly. Highly highly recommend.
Tonight we are at the Jolly Sailor. It's bike night on the Quay. The suns out, the women are here, guys on bikes. Fish in Batter, chips in the Sunshire, Cheers. The front was packed with everyone and his dog, great place to be.
Back in July on my bike for bike night.
Had lunch here all very good, barman brought out a bowl water for our dog, the sandwiches we had were really tasty ( fish fingers and a chicken bacon) the skinny chips were to die for, really tasty
Excellent pub to come watch the rugby. Dog friendly, welcoming staff and lots of big screens. Used to sell Stella but they don't any more, which is a shame, but they sell San Mig, Peroni, Amstel and Madri along with a mix of ales and ciders. Sam was very helpful in sorting us out a table to come in and watch the rugby on super Saturday. Very kind and accommodating. Couldn't ask for better staff. Often come in of an evening too and a great atmosphere here at that time too. Shame they got rid of the pool table though.
Great pub , excellent sports coverage and the food is very good . The staff coped brilliantly as well considering how busy it was . Overall a very good experience all round , will definitely be back .
