We were at a private party here on Saturday night and it was one of the best party venues that I’ve been to in a long, long time. The owners, Nigel & Liz are lovely people and the pub is very warm and inviting and the staff are hard working & friendly. The buffet food that Nigel prepared was excellent and I can’t wait to go back for a meal as the menu looks amazing. Thank you so much, we had a great night at Sarah’s 50th Birthday party.

Moved to Poole about a year ago. When we go on the Harbour the Hoy is great for anything from a pint to a meal. The food is great and we've tried most on the menu..and the staff are friendly too

Appearances can be deceptive. Didn't look totally inspiring from outside but the food was fantastic. Sunday roast with large portion of meat, good selection of vegetables and friendly, helpful staff...and the 'Fursty Ferret' beer was good as well! Altogether a very good experience.

Had lunch here, when ever I go to the coast I am a creature of habit and always choose fish and chips, These were exceptional. Big chunky chips and the batter on the fish was so light and crisp, with hardly a hint of the fat it had been fried in great experience all round will be going back !!!

Popped into Portsmouth Hoy for the lunch with family yesterday , was able to take dog in. Nice relaxed atmosphere, not over busy.. We all ordered our meals, what can I say absolutely gorgeous, the roast beef and pork were amazing as the rest of the meals we had. The staff were great nothing to much trouble. Overall a fantastic item had by all and will certainly be making it our local for meals in future. Congratulations to all of you

You should visit this pub purely for the interior, a feast of nautical embellishments, displayed with care, and attention to detail. The huge collection of artifacts and empheria make this a pub to remember. A good selection of ales on the bar too.

We visited on a Sunday in June 2023, having popped in around 6 months earlier for a pint just before they closed. This time we were there for opening and after checking the menu decided to try the Sunday Roast. We weren't disappointed as the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was out of this world. Both the Pork and Beef options came with all the trimmings you'd expect and the veg was especially delicious. Really good portion sizes too. It did get quite busy whilst we were eating, so booking ahead is probably advisable if you want to guarantee a table. But whether you're there for food or just a drink, you won't find a friendlier pub on Poole Quay.

A traditional, nautical themed pub nestled in the heart of historic Poole Quay. A great selection of real ales, lagers and ciders as well as high quality, generously portioned food at a very reasonable price. An under 18s ban is in place and enforced, allowing the childless to enjoy a pub surrounding without children running riot. Would definitely visit again.

We have just rediscovered the Portsmouth Hoy and thoroughly recommend it. The food is home cooked with real chips, well cooked and served hot. The pub has lots of character with lots of Navel themed paintings and models. Good service was standard.

Fish and chips are great here, the chips are rustic style, very coarsely chopped. One serving is enough for two people. The mussels are almost better, better than some I've eaten in Belgium or Normandy, an absolute must.

Great pub with a VERY interior. Model ships everywhere. Takes ages to study them all. The staff are very friendly and the food was tastey and plentiful.
