I can highly recommend this restaurant, beautiful service and food throughout. Greeted on arrival, nothing was to much trouble if you wanted to deviate from the menu a little. Upon leaving all the staff said goodbye as we walked to the exit. Good old fashioned service and staff who seem very happy to work there.

Out with friends for dinner as we liked the look of the menu … some interesting choices .
Positives - good service with friendly helpful staff .
Interesting options like soft shell crab burger ( which was yum ! )
Not too pricy
Negatives - the start portions for the white air and tiger prawns was “merge” the white bait had no spice to it despite being “Devilled”
Soft shell crab burgers were great but could have had some of the slaw on the side ? Just something else to dress the plate
Beef dripping chips under whelmed …. Didn’t taste any different …
So a four out of five
Staff were great . One of us didn’t like the fish and chips and it was changed without any hassle , and that was impressive . Would have been a three if not for that .
Stopped here for an unplanned lunch. Beautiful restaurant and lovely, friendly and attentive staff. There were two menu options, you could eat from the set menu, with a two course costing £20, which I what we opted for, they had good choices on there from their al a carte menu, and they also had a specials menu. The service was brilliant, and you were given a nice bit of time between your courses. My starter was the chicken liver parfait, and it was full of flavour, and for myself the best I have tasted. Where the restaurant is situated you then have the option to pop down to sandbanks or branksome chine for a nice post lunch walk. Will definately be going back.

Booked a late Father's day lunch for 5 people. The elegantly finished restaurant was not busy, but diners and drinkers made for a nice pre-dinner atmosphere. The 3 kids ordered off one of the most imaginative children's menu I've seen in years. 🧒
Our 3 are pretty foodie, but there's nothing there to scare fickle eaters; a a good sized and well cooked steak, turkey Meatballs with a teriyaki sauce that comes on the side, and lovely puddings. Our starter of prawn and lobster came with a shrimp 🦐 the size of your forearm, and the seabass and salmon mains were excellent.
The staff were friendly without being obtrusive. Had we been without kids, we might have enjoyed a degastif at the inviting bar. The final bill was very reasonable, having taken advantage of the 2 courses for £24.
Fantastic food, none of us could fault our meals. We had fish & chips, burger, malt chicken and Thai veggie curry. All were absolutely delicious. We went for dinner on a Tuesday night, we were by the bar as we had our dog with us. It was quiet so there wasn’t much of an atmosphere but nevertheless it was a great meal. We will definitely be back when we’re next in the area
With out a doubt my favourite restaurant. The first time we tried the Anchorage we were back 2 days later as we were so impressed. The food is incredible, the staff are so lovely and cater to each tables needs before you even realise you need something. Just a perfect experience and is now a go to whenever friends or family want to go out for a meal. Also fab is they offer 25% off after each visit so if you go back in 4 weeks you get a discount!

Popped in here today off the cuff after a horrendous experience by the beach In Brancksome and I have to say it was 1st class.
Great staff, positive, immediate friendly service, great beer, hot delicious food. The difference of having great people front of house makes the experience so much more worthwhile.

We had the most lovely evening ☺️ The food was delicious and our seafood and steak was cooked to perfection. My partner ordered a Tuna Steak as an extra because he was enjoying his main so much and it was absolutely delicious. The chef even came out to meet him as he wanted to thank him for the lovely meal. Our waiter was amazing and very attentive to everything we needed. We can't wait to come again. Thank you for a lovely night 🤗

I took my 2 children on holiday and stayed at this wonderful place! The room was lovely first and foremost which due to English weather we spent more time in than I would have liked! However, the staff and the service we received was honestly the best I’ve ever had! Christina the GM was there to welcome us when we arrived, Charlotte looked after us so well every evening when we came down for dinner. Me and 2 young children is never easy to entertain or relax, but they made it so easy, gave them things to colour etc and basically realised it was my holiday too! Every morning we were greeted by the lovely Vida who is truly an asset to the hotel too, not only was the breakfast delicious every day but she went above and beyond in making it special for us all!
I normally have a ‘but’, however I honestly cannot fault this place, everything was so perfect and it made our holiday. We cannot wait to come back! Imagine the review if the weather had been nice!

Had a family dinner here a few weeks ago. Our server was very attentive.we had a baby with us and a high chair was provided. Very accommodating.Ithere was a vegan and a ceoliac in the group who were also accommodated.. I had king prawn linguine Good size portion and tasty.. worth a visit
Beautiful pub inside, outside was poor with the front area practically inaccessible unless you're thin as a rake. Food looked incredible but we didnt eat, drinks range was vast but bespoke, could really do with a more staple set of products, service behind the bar was friendly and knowledgeable. Worth a visit for sure, but can't compete with the Canford round the corner if on a drinking visit, food wise though looks superb.
Food was very nice. But was very quiet and no real atmosphere. Also some staff would need more training. Free, but not spacious car park.
I was a lone diner that's why 4 stars for atmosphere!
The chef is on top form, I ate like a Queen.
Cray fish and prawn salad starter was tasty and went down well main was excellent and the staff were told so! It was Halibut creamed potatoes and spinach went down a treat
