Amazing food and atmosphere last night. Highly recommend the indonesian seafood curry it was divine. Great sunset.
Amazing food, we really enjoyed dinner here tonight, plus the staff were great with the kids! Highly recommend the Indonesian fish curry, sooo good!
We decided to treat ourselves with a dinner . As soon as you walk in there is a relaxed atmosphere. Tables are well spaced. Service is really good , and the staff really nice. I had the Indonesian fish curry. Heat wise, a 4 out of 10 and absolutely wonderful. So many flavours going on, very recommended. All the food we had was lovely and the view looking out over Poole harbour at sunset reminded me of The Florida keys .The whole evening was very nice and very recommended. Cocktails first, no starters , 2 mains 2 large wines and 2 deserts , 2 coffees, just over £100 plus gratuities (optional but you must, they are great)
Lush food, good service & a great location with a view to match. Will definitely visit again & recommend to others - especially the peanut cheesecake :)
Always best staff, best food, best location. Perfect.
The best sunset view in Sandbanks. Fabulous food. A place to go for Special celebrations.
We came to Rick Stein’s in Sandbanks to celebrate my husband’s birthday yesterday. Wonderful meal, fab friendly service in beautiful surroundings. Would thoroughly recommend a visit here.
Many thanks to all who made it such a lovely time for us.
Had a great meal last night. We arrived without a reservation but there were no tables so we decided to have a drink at the bar. We hadn’t yet finished our drinks when they told us they could fit us in. Lovely meal reasonably priced!
Amazing food, beautiful location and the best staff. Can't wait to go again
Outstanding ! Went here for lunch and was not disappointed. The menu was incredible, great wine list and good service. I had the seafood chowder for starter and lemon sole for main course, both of which were expertly flavoured and presented. My partner had the shellfish platter which was also amazing. There is also a lovely outdoor seating area where we had post lunch drinks with some cheese. Well recommended
Parking is quite convenient, though on a sunny weekend we had arrived by 9am which was adequate to ensure availability of parking. By the time that we left at 11am, there wasn't really much parking left.
We had breakfast, which isn't really what Rick Stein's is about (that's seafood), but it is a restaurant with a good deal of visual drama of dining in the restaurant area with the 'Harbour View'. Certainly, climbing up the stairs and passing the kitchen to be greeted with the view of the harbour is fantastic.
There weren't any real complaints about the food, which were all very good ingredients. The coffee was good and the brewed coffee offered complimentary refills. The bloody mary was really good. The children were catered for on the same menu and they seemed to scoff their food too -- ages ranged from four to thirteen!
For me, the pick of the dishes was the crab omelette, a must have.
Service... they were all very nice and professional but had a tendency to gaze downwards rather than scanning the room, a personal pet peeve.
Overall, it's certainly a lovely place to be on a sunny Sunday morning and I would visit for lunch next time.
Beautiful evening dinner on the terrace.
We had a reservation, which we called ahead to say we were running 10 mins late for to be told that's the only amount of time they could hold our table and wanted the table back at the same time (not sure what happened to the standard 15 min grace period.), my partner felt the interaction was a little rude. Turns out there was no booking after us we later learnt.
Was pricey as expected, but worth it which is all you can ask! £5 for a bottle of still water and £4 for a flat white, is bit excessive in my opinion. Happy to pay for quality, not so much for other standard items like this though - that annoys me a little.
We had a friendly, knowledgeable uni student as our waiter - he really made an effort for us which made a difference to our dinner.
Overall, the view was amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food and drinks were great.
Will go back when visiting again.
Absolutely perfect. The best meal out I've had in a very very long while. Can't fault it. The choice of food, the food itself, the service and the setting.
Food was exceptional, comprising of delectable dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that were bursting with flavour. Despite our casual beach attire, we entered the restaurant with the intention of indulging in a lavish dining experience. Regrettably, we sensed a hint of judgement from certain staff members, particularly at the entrance. (PLEASE NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER). However, our server was delightful and warmly embraced our presence, making us feel comfortable and appreciated. Additionally, the restaurant boasted magnificent views that are undoubtedly worth experiencing.
Have fish ! It is excellent and clearly what they do really well. Those in our party who had steak or pork belly were less happy. Amazing views and great service. Enormous choice of wine.
Had a wonderful lunch with my family. They do a set menu of three courses which was very good. We did not book, but it was a Monday and took a chance that we would get a table. We were lucky and were given one overlooking the harbour. It was perfect. Staff and food were excellent and we would definitely return if we were in the area.
Wow what can I say I went here for first time and was blown away! The device was impeccable , really friendly and great customer service too! Beautiful restaurant decor and where it overlooked was stunning in sandbanks where all the boats and yachts are! The food was absolutely delicious! I had scallops for starters, which was lovely and tasty and soo fresh. I had lemon sole for my main, wow!! I never tried this fish before but thought I would give it a go and omg! It was absolutely divine! The fish was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. I had panacotta for desert which was soo delicious and creamy! Everything in this restaurant is spectacular it is on the pricey side but it is worth it. Highly recommend 😊
Sea front view is absolutely picturesque, and the quality of the fish is impeccable. The wine pairing is exquisite with the courses. Had a lovely evening with the wife.
Dinner with a view! What an incredible culinary experience this place was - beautiful restaurant with a terrace that backs onto the marina. We had the lobster and steak and both were perfect. Shout out to George our lovely waiter as well 🙏
We came to Sandbanks during our Honeymoon in Bournemouth - even though there was an issue with our reservation the Maitre D’ found us a table with a view and saved the afternoon! We shared some starters and had the Lobster for main which was incredible, still thinking about it now. Thanks to Luke for the great service and being very attentive but also not too over-bearing!
Will be back our next time in Bournemouth.
Suspect they were understaffed yesterday evening. Overheard two different tables taking about the delay with their food and drinks.
I found service to be OK. The food varied from interesting and innovative (crispy mackerel salad) to the underwhelming (escalopes of halibut).
Overall experience was good but have had better fish at several other restraunts which is surprising given the name above the door.
Visited today and it was just a lovely experience. Fantastic service, a great sea view, and incredible food. I recommend the Indonesian seafood curry.
4 people all had faultless food, but the langoustines were very expensive. It's probably cheaper to buy British langoustine in Spain! Minor points on service such as not cleaning table of remains of langoustine mess before laying cutlery for main course. Let's get rid of this service charge nonsense. Your vet or dentist doesn't ask for it. Just pay the staff a fair wage.
A great dining experience, good staff and amazing food. If you book in advance and your due to visit during the day time, ask for a seat by the window with a sea view, you won’t be disappointed. There are two levels on the ground floor, the back higher area is better for fine dining and the front lower area is better for drinks and lunches because it’s a bit more casual. An ideal stopping point if your walking around the sandbanks area. A must visit place for dinner if your staying near by. Although it’s a seafood restaurant, you will find the normal meat eater meals, but I’d recommend going for everything seafood related. The fish and chips are famously good.
It was a day for celebration 🍾
The first lady's birthday, I wanted to do that in fine style, and I can say now that the Rick Stein's in Sandbanks helped me achieved just that.
The staff - I came in 4 hours earlier to try and get the table I reserved decorated with balloons and a champagne one ice. They girls at the front desk were so accommodating and friendly and smiled as if they had just been given an autograph by Chris Brown. Team members are the sparehead of customer service, and I can tell you now that the team in there is Sharp as ever!. Hats off.
The food - I ordered the 'Seafood Pasta' and the birthday girl had the 'Seabas'. Both meals were cooked carefully and tasty. After all, one of us is a chef, and she confirmed that.
The Atmosphere - The restaurant sits on the water front of Sandbanks beach. When walking into reception, you would think that is all there is to it, until you are guided up the stairwell, unto the glassed view, open dinning area, looking over the shores of the Sandbanks beach and the landscape where the views are just impeccable.
All in all, I'm happy with the experience.
As always, once it is good, I end with saying
This restaurant has my heart -Vibes 👊😎
The front of the restaurant appears a bit tired but it's lovely inside. The food and service were amazing. We had a thoroughly nice time
