Absolutely amazing!! We arrived at Isabel's at 9.50pm, without a reservation. They accommodated us regardless in the lovely bar area.
Service was excellent, staff were incredibly attentive ensuring we were looked after the whole time.
We had scallops and cheese soufflé for starters, which were both fantastic! For mains we had fillet steak, served with ample side portions. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the side portions were incredibly tasty and the jus complimented everything perfectly!
The host, chef, bar staff and waiting staff were all very friendly, professional and courteous. It's well worth booking a table for any occasion as the food, atmosphere and general experience is highly recommended. This is our favourite restaurant so far and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you so much for accommodating us and making our date night perfect xxx
What a treat to eat at Isabel’s! Brilliant personal service without being ‘pushy’! Such friendly staff. Amazing food prepared by a superb chef. Tasty, hot and beautifully presented! Can’t wait to book again to celebrate a special occasion.
My partner and I had a wonderful experience food and service excellent. It was a good atmosphere, staff were very friendly and attentive with the chef delivering our meals which were delicious and generous portions. I also enjoyed that we could have pre drinks in the cocktail bar. I particularly appreciated that a service charge wasn’t added to the bill. Leaving me to give a tip at my discretion, which I did.
I visited Isabels for my birthday on the 1st of February.
I was very impressed with the new venue. Nicely refurbished. Keeping some of the charm/style from the old venue.
On entry we were greeted & given canapés.

I can say the Amaretto sour was fantastic 👍
We were then seated in a very private booth.
For a nosey person 😁 I felt a little hemmed in. If you want total privacy they are ideal. I know to ask next time for a seat with a view.
The service was just right. The food outstanding. I had beetroot & goats cheese starter, followed by steak & trimmings. The bone marrow gravy was delicious 😋
We only had tummy room left to share a melt in the mouth chocolate brownie topped with Marmalade ice cream (that was a 1st) won't be the last.
I am looking forward to our next visit very soon.

Isabel's Brasserie is a reincarnation of a long established local restaurant, now closed. However it is a better restaurant than its predecessor and I enjoy all aspects of dining there. I can recommend it.
We visited Isabel's Brasserie last Friday 11th November to celebrate my 25th birthday. This was the first time going to the restaurant since reopening in Penn Hill. Isabel’s catered for thirteen of us in total and all the staff were superb, they even asked if they could order taxis for anyone towards the end of the night. The Cheese Soufflé was arguably the best starter I have had in a long time, followed by the Tournedos Rossini for main and the Chocolate Brownie for dessert - all of which were delicious. We will be returning!

Absolutely fantastic. Had a three course meal from the a la carte menu, plenty of choice including vegetarian and gluten free options. Used to adore Isabels @ Ashley Cross so had really high expectations, and Isabels Brasserie did not disappoint! Staff all very friendly and accommodating, food absolutely divine, generous portion sizes, delicious drinks (the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is incredible) and a great atmosphere. So pleased that it was everything I would have hoped for it to be, can’t wait to return again in the New Year. Thanks Isabels!!
Outstanding food and service in a relaxed but intimate setting.
Sarah and her team were so welcoming, friendly and delighted to serve outstanding food. The team are attentive and well trained - nothing is too much hassle.
The set menu is insane value (3 courses for less than £30) - apparently it’s 20% off this again for mid-week lunches now as well.
The food is so delicious, local and well presented. The a la carte has so much variety and every dish looked great.
4 of us at the table had a mixture of starters (amazing French onion soup!) and the mains were fish, venison and pork. All amazing.
Such a well designed, well thought out restaurant. It has a lovely bar area as you enter, with the restaurant behind. Each table is well placed so you’re not too close to anyone else, and the furnishings such that there isn’t that loud, echoey background you get in restaurants without proper furniture.
We will definitely return. This restaurant and it’s team deserve these 5 stars and more.
Superbly attentive service and excellent food. A friendly atmosphere, you're not smothered and they serve decent beer! (amongst other things).
Parking could be a little tricky at the wrong time of day but patience pays off).
We visited Isabel’s for the first time for an anniversary meal and I’m so pleased that we did. The food was outstanding and service was excellent. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back ourselves :)

I was fortunate enough to choose Isabel's for a large surprise gathering to celebrate my parents 70th birthdays.
Sarah, one of the owners, did an impeccable job of helping me organise the event. She is a great listener and a consummate professional. Really knows her stuff and was very kind and considerate throughout. The event was so important to us as a family and I'm happy we placed our trust in Sarah and her team.
The day itself was simply perfect. Lizzi was running the restaurant on the day. Lizzi and the team ensured the event remained a surprise up until the intended 'reveal'. The food was lovely, portions generous and the prices great considering the large portions of high quality, tasty, well cooked good. The entire team were fantastic - on the ball, adaptive, all with a smile and a polite, friendly approach. Impeccable service. Exactly what you would want, especially with such a special event.
Multiple people in our party remarked at how lovely the restaurant is, how gorgeous the food was and how well run the event was. I'll definitely go back and would recommend Isabel's to anyone planning an event or special occasion/celebration.
I want to make a special mention - Lizzi was amazing. She treated her team with calm, kind, compassion, while making sure operations ran like a perfectly tuned engine. She was lovely towards us all, with lots of people mentioning to me how nice she is and how much of an amazing job she was doing. I didn't feel like i was just 'a customer' - what came across was genuine care to ensure that a special occasion went well and that we all left with a smile on our faces. She is a true star and I'll remain eternally grateful for her work in making the day so special!
