Pontefract for its size is a great place for a good night out. The Mad Ox is small but it has a good beer garden. Drinks are good, nothing too run of the mill. Worth a visit but very busy at weekends and race days. Shout out to the whole of Ropergate

Firstly I drink coffee here, they have an amazing array of flavour syrups to go with the coffees
The coffee itself is well done
My partner obviously partakes in the bar side of the drinks and enjoys the poretti
I have aslo heard other patrons remarking on the mad ox brew

Friendly, helpful, and attentive staff, good range of lagers. Unfortunately no guiness. Enjoyed the visit.
Was lovely atmosphere. Barman made a mean Expresso martini. Chatty bar staff. Lovely.
