Fantastic Fish and chips. Fish is freshly cooked to order with a nice light crispy batter and good size portions. Excellent value for money and top quality product. Very friendly staff and very clean. I highly recommend this Fish and Chip Shop. You will not be disappointed!
Impressed… not the cheapest in the area but you definitely get ya moneys worth and it was delicious! Cod chips scraps and a drink only £9 cheaper than dining in the restaurant at my digs! So I’ll definitely be back
Better than our usual place. Nice premises, good staff, no minimum spend on card/contactless. Good portion size. Each to their own but fish could be battered more and it's a tad pricey.

Passing through Pontefract I asked Google what the best Fish & Chips in the area was, I was recommended to Lanes.
My order as Fish , chips and mushy peas with a buttered breadbun. ( Don't forget lashings of Salt and Vinegar!)
The Fish was golden brown, perfectly cooked
First time in Lanes Fish and Chip shop, I was amazed at the size of the fish it would not fit on the plate. The fish tasted like fish should taste, the batter was light and crispy and the chips were great. I can see why this place has won many awards. We will definitely be back for more.
What can I say apart from wow excellent service excellent fish and chips will be back definitely been twice got beaten by the normal fish and chips so went for small this time absolutely excellent
First timing giving here a try and was impressed. The food was great quality, very tasty and the portion sizes excellent. Will now be our go to chippy!
Absolutely spot on . 5 star . Never will I get fish supper from anywhere else again ! Ordered a special fish , chips , bread cake + drink. Came to about £10. Could have fed a family of 4 with that , portion size is bang on . Fish was massive ! Really am impressed ! Staff really sound aswell ! Well d
