What a cracking welcome at a place I hadn't frequented for nearly 50 yrs...the new landlord has certainly made a great start and seems to know exactly what people want....good ales, good atmosphere and good company....hope he adds good food to that list soon. Highly recommended!

What a great evening last night with our ‘out of town’ friends. We’ve been different nights/days of the week and enjoyed everyone. The pizzas are honestly the best I’ve EVER tasted. Great atmosphere. Thanks to Andrew for turning this village focal point around. Hope you get the support you deserve for all the effort you’ve put in and continue to put in.

Lovely local pub. Glad to be able to go back in again after a massive clean up and change of landlord. Fab quiz on Monday night.

The Spread is a work in progress...but the signs are promising! Andy is a genuine guy who is open to suggestion and clearly wants to make this a success for the community. A great selection of Real Ales, lagers, spirits...and word around the campfire is that they are soon to be serving cocktails too! This is definitely a place to keep your eye on! Looking forward to our next visit...

We walked in as a 'walk in' booking with our dog. There was a fire burning, Christmas tree which was atmospheric. Food all came out together and was lovely.

Working in Darrington so we decided to treat ourselves to a meal here on the last night. What can I say!! Hands down the best mixed grill I have ever had in all my 30 years of working away. Quality meat and the sides were just as good. Absolutely amazing. That chef is top drawer. I hope we get to work there again and soon.

Always heard that the spread had great food...But never came as it was in the opposite direction to me. Today decided to come for lunch. Upon entering it was a cosy laid back pub, which I loved... I hate pubs where it's full of loud people drinking for their lives! We got seated by the window in the bar area and opted for a Sunday lunch,. A pie bar snack, extra veg, and two desserts. What I didn't know at the time was the waiting time. Be warned there is a long wait for food. I was later told that it is because they are very popular and the kitchen is very small so it's hard to pump out high volumes of food... But trust me... It was worth the wait. The belly pork which the waitress helped me choose over beef was delicious, vegetables cooked just right, roast potato soft and full of flavour and that Yorkshire pudding... It was so light and fluffy!!! Partners chicken and leek pie snack... That was so tasty as well... Normally they can be dry but this one at the Spread was full of flavour moist and the pastry again yummy. We ordered dessert, I can never resist a creme brulee ...And I'm biased I will always say every creme brulee is good!!! My partner got the sticky toffee pudding...To me I'm like pah, no thanks...But wow... Would I be training my creme brulee if I said the sticky toffee pudding was better ! It was sweet but not sickly. It had. A great moist chew to it and the quality of the ice cream... And ingredients used in the home made food was excellent The young waitresses ... Don't be biased. Yes they are young but you can tell they live working there. And knowledgeable. Highly recommend I have found another one of my top fav places to eat in the world Thank you The spread, compliments to the chef today and the staff who served us

Had lunch today with friends. Plenty of choice on the menu. What I liked was that some items offered small portions which suited me fine. Lovely waitress who knew the menu well and could answer questions about the food being served. The food was well presented and served hot. Will definitely go here again as the pub had a lovely friendly atmosphere.

We called in for Sunday lunch today, and I can honestly say it was the one of the best Sunday lunches I have had in a long while. The food was impeccably presented and was deliciou. The staff were amazing, and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back

Called in for lunch without booking on Friday afternoon with our dog. Very friendly welcome, service was very good from the staff. Can recommend the surf & turf from the specials board, excellent steak. Good choice of drinks too. Will definitely return, thankyou all at the Spread.

By far the best pub around for food (absolutely top notch high quality delicious meals, always great whatever we go for, yet such good value!), cosiness, atmosphere and service. Our go-to place!

Excellent food; friendly service; slight issue with one main was sorted immediately; good prices. Thoroughly recommend. Only drawback was that we couldn't leave a well deserved tip, as we had no cash and adding a tip onto the card payment wasn't possible.
