We had a brilliant wedding on 20th April 2018. It was an absolutely stunning venue and a perfect sunny day. We couldn't have asked for anymore. Sally was with us from day 1 and helped us out lots including booking a room for me and my bridesmaids the night before. My step mum was gluten free and my cousin was vegan and both were provided special meals and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious so many guests complimented us on our food. The bar man that was present all day and evening was brilliant (I dont know his name but he made our day really special), he couldn't do enough for us the night before the wedding and all day on the wedding day. He made us laugh lots and even when I was waiting to walk down the aisle he came to wish me luck and made me laugh to calm my nerves. He even made sure there were seperate utensils for my gluten free guest to avoid cross contamination which my step mum really appreciated. The DJ was fabulous too, we gave him a list of requests beforehand and he made sure our evening do ran smoothly and kept us in the loop of what was happening when which was great. He even arranged for food to be kept for us to eat at the end of the night incase we didn't get chance. Finally a big thanks to our toast master, he was brilliant! We felt so well looked after all day, nothing was too much trouble for him and he made our day run so smoothly. We can't thank him enough. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone and wish we could do it all again!

I got married here in the pavilion followed by reception in the kings suite on 13/05/2018. The day couldn’t have been any more perfect, the venue is amazing, so much opportunity for photographs as the surroundings are beautiful (even our photographer was buzzing) the staff are first class, Abbie our wedding coordinator and Brian our toastmaster ensured our day ran perfectly. Brian keeping things moving along nicely, letting us know what’s happening where and when and ensuring we were happy with everything as we went. The food was gorgeous and service throughout the meal was very good, usually expect slow service with large parties but staff ensured everyone was eating at more or less the same time. The setting up of our reception by staff was great, hubby was very pleased as he was supplied with his drink of choice allday (fussy) by staff. Have to say our meal the night before was first class and all our guests commented on the breakfast aswell saying how delicious it was. One worry I had was that as there was so many weddings on that our wedding parties might end up mixed or there may be confusion, I can honestly say the only time we crossed paths was when the two bride and grooms were out doing sunset photographs, otherwise we wouldnt have known the other one was on. Really wouldn’t have one complaint to make about the whole place and service. Even the odd bits that I (the bride) forgot to bring in the stress of remembering everything, staff sent up to our room. One question please can we do it all again !?

We got married here on 5/5/18 & it was absolutely perfect! Right from the first time we visited as a potential wedding venue we knew this was where we wanted to get married, We had been to around 15 other venues but as soon as We stepped in to kings Croft we knew it was the one. All the staff have been amazing from start to finish especially Abby who dealt with us through most of the planning. Nothing was too much trouble for them at all. The night before the wedding we needed rooms for travelling family & they managed to accommodate us all & on the day everything ran to a tee. Our toastmaster was brilliant & Getting married in the pavilion with its stunning backgrounds was breath taking. Liz dealt with the running of the day and she was great! The food was delicious & everyone commented on how good it tasted. We had the venues photographer Paul and he was amazing, printing off pictures for guests to look at throughout the day! Mark our dj was fab & had all our guests up and dancing plus the fireworks we had topped off the night perfectly. Thank you so so much for making our day everything we wished for. The new Mr & Mrs Westwood x

Had our reception in the kings suite here on 4th May and couldn't have asked for a better day. The staff went above and beyond to make our day run smoothly and be the best it could be. Food was amazing all the guest have complemented on what they are and how well the staff completed the service. And our toastmaster was detrimental in making our day perfect as he went out of his way to sort any little problem that came up

I have seen almost all the tribute acts, but on Sunday 3rd December I attended the Christmas meal with my colleagues and I have to say....the Take That Back tribute were absolutely amazing. Paul Hale (dj/compare) was fab as always. Got the audience involved and the dance floor was packed all night. Food was amazing and we danced our socks off. Fantastic night

I got married here at Saturday 23/6/18 we were planning our wedding for 2 years and Sally was there to help us every step of the way and couldn’t do enough for us... well me who phoned all the time to check small details. Every member of staff who was involved with the day whether they were bar staff, waiters (especially Liz) and our toast master Brian couldn’t have been better. Our day ran perfectly from start to finish. We had a minor issue the day before and Corina came to our rescue! There are no amount of thanks we can say to this hotel for making our day perfect in every way possible!

I find it difficult to understand the negative reviws on this site. Kings croft hosted our wedding on the 13.02.18 which was also my 50th birthday. When our wedding was booked I was just starting my chemo treatment they were caring understanding and very supportive. On the day of our wedding they could do enough for us our our guests. The whole day was fantastic, the food was amazing the staff were wonderful. I can not thank them enough for making our day so special. Xx

Our daughter had their wedding here on good Friday and it was excellent. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing, they were eager to help and went out of their way. My only issue was that when we originally booked the venue we were promised a small quiet room for some guests to sit in who are either elderly and confused or adults and children with autism who get distressed with a lot of noise and people. This didn't happen so some guests did struggle. Otherwise I cannot praise the venue high enough. How they managed to serve everyone together with such beautiful food which was hot, is beyond me. Delicious food, drinks served promptly by cheerful staff. The whole day was wonderful. The night porter in particular deserves a medal. What a fantastic member of the team. Many thanks to everyone.

The service was excellent, I stayed here for 4 weeks for work. The bungalows were everything I needed to stay for a business stay. The food was amazing, and I can't stress enough, being able to have a beautifully cooked beef roast every night... I nearly did not try anything else on the menu. Very friendly staff also top notch team. This venue does cater to a lot of wedding parties and funerals, which means we had to change location for dinner from the main restaurant to some rooms near the bar, but the communication is on point so no issues or confusion. The location can get windy, but the view is breathtaking, looking over and beyond.

Came here for an evening function. Arrived at lunchtime, had a very pleasant sandwich for my lunch of beef, mushrooms, onion and gravy. My room was in one of the bungalows. Very clean and spacious, ample sockets, walk in shower. Breakfast was good and included in the price which was 85. I thought this was great value. Ample parking, accessible throughout. Staff were fantastic.

Had great night at dirty dancing and greece nite at kings croft. The room was well lit n warm. But every one on our table, table 10 was squashed in. We had a table for 15 but was put in far right corner against 2 walls, so every time i needed to go to the bar i had to squeeze past 8 of our guests to get out of the seat. Think table lay out was inaccessible to me in the corner. The food was nice. Service was quick. Entertainment was fantastic. But the drinks seems expensive, £3.50 for a lemonade. Had a good nite but table 10 needs looking at. If id have been a big build id not have had room to get to my seat, past 8 other oeople slready seated.

Amazing hotel with amazing grounds and views. Its easy to see why this is such a popular wedding/event venue. They do amazing event nights too, which are good fun and seem to be very well organised. The staff are approachable and helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family. Lovely building situated in beautiful grounds about a mile from Pontefract Town centre. Atmosphere in hotel is completely laid back with a mixture of visiting and local clientele. An extremely charactful building with a labaryinth of meeting and conference rooms. I believe its a popular wedding venue and appears to host music and theme nights. Will stay here again.

I took a group of twenty for a lunchtime event . The afternoon went well and everyone agreed that it was enjoyable. The service was good, considering the number of people attending.

I found the experience very pleasing indeed and very surprising as I and my wife need wheelchairs. Their cottages are very good and we had a pleasant stay.

Stayed at Kings Croft for 4 nights whilst working away. Would absolutely recommend to anyone regardless of occasion for staying. Staff were absolutely 10/10 couldn't do enough for you, super friendly and genuinely looked like they enjoyed being at work. Food was absolutely amazing I'd recommend the pork burger and cheese cake. Very reasonably priced menu (although I wasn't paying 😂) Only thing I could fault is that the rooms are looking a bit dated however well equipped, smart TV, lots of space, modern bathroom.

Room (number4) was a great size. We had a large cuddle chair at each side of the bed and there was a sofa at the foot of the bed. There was also a desk and chair & another little stool. Double bed was very comfortable, Only one of the three windows opened. We did have two fans, but it was still very hot. The shower was hot but it soaked the bathroom floor. The hotel is set in spectacular grounds which are lovely when lit up at night. Requested an extra hour at check out and this was granted without issue. Had food and drinks in the restaurant which was reasonably priced. One young girl who served all tables was rushed off her feet. However she was efficient, extremely polite and knowledgeable. She is a real credit to the place. All in all I would return if in the area in the future.
