My and my partner came for the first time for a meal. We both had steak and ale pie and lemon tart. Was absolutely delicious. Best pie I've had in a long time and the steak was nice and tender. Service was brilliant and staff were amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will be visiting again. Xx
Visited for dinner with friends last night and we had a fabulous time! Having a few food intolerances I was unsure what I would be able to eat. The lovely waitress that served our table was so friendly and helpful..I had 3 courses! Definitely recommend!! Specially big thank you to our waitress!
This place never let's us down...... food great, beer great and now the entertainment is great.
Very lucky to have the Angel as our local pub and we regularly visit the beer garden with the dog. We eat here most weeks and the drinks, food and service are all excellent.

Really friendly pub love to go here with the kids and molly our dog for a drink and some food. Even better when suns out and you can sit in beer garden just don't want to leave

Just had a fab meal in here tonight. The baked mushroom and goats cheese starter is to die for. Well worth a visit.

Passed this place for years but never been in went last night for first time and can't fault it food was amazing and well priced and staff were same will be going again very soon.
Took my mum for Sunday lunch today for her 70th birthday. Friendly, attentive staff and the food was lovely! Will definitely be coming back �

Went last year because i heard the steak 'n' ale pie was one the best and thought this was the the ideal oppertunity to also propose to my girlfriend........ the pie was as good as expected and happily she said yes.
Fast forward to yesterday (29th, may 2023) for the one year anniversary asked for the same due to date aswell as asking for something extra but not over the top to mark the occasion....... the food was even better and couldn't be more satisfied and thankyou Angel for adding the pastry love heart to my soon to be wife's pie.

My son and I always come away happy and content. Galic mushrooms for myself, blackpudding scotch egg for my son for starters, both was perfect. We both tried the sea bass today, it was cooked to perfection, the potatoes were so tasty. Everything on the plate was perfect.
Yummy 💯! I enjoyed the burger 8oz, it was very massive, the sweetness of the salad, and the very hot chips. In addition to 2 Moretti's beer . I recommend this place .
Went today for first time 6th August 2023, had Sunday roast & everything was beautiful. Plenty of meat, lovely fresh vegetables & huge Yorkshire pudding. I'd seen normal menu food coming out too & that looked lovely. I will definitely return to try the menu out.

We enjoyed eating and drinking here on our holiday: it was recommended to us and I can't say enough how well received the mixed grill was. Absolutely delicious! If you're in the area, drop in.
A warm welcome was given by the staff who were pleasant and friendly (it's advisable to pre-book a table).
This pub is an old coaching Inn and retains it's charm as such , our dining area was well lit with natural light and well placed table and chairs giving good space between them.
A decent sized bar with a good selection of alcoholic drinks.
A very extensive lunch menu with a good selection of meals, there were small size plates( reduced price) that are on the main lunch menus which will suit pensioner's with a extra 10% off the price for pensioner's, a really good deal.
Meal prices are very reasonable priced.
Gents rest room was very clean and well decorated, as is the pub .
A decent sized car park next to a local walk "Dando Way" (Which I think was a rail line in the days of steam ) is a very pleasant walk in the beautiful village of Ackworth.
Will call again and recommend.
Eaten here a few times and have just had the best haddock and chips I've had in decades.

Gorgeous tasty food. Fast friendly service and lovely with my little 16 month old! I had the Salmon with crushed potatoes and leek with green veg. Will be returning 100%. 5 star food with a Yorkshire twist 😁
Thoroughly enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch in The Angel. The ambience was lovely, the food excellent and plentiful. All in all well worth the money , great value and the staff were very helpful and obliging.

We ate here last night with friends. The steak and ale pie is to be highly recommended. It is refreshing to see young staff waiting on tables to be so efficient. The young man who looked after us deserves special praise.
