We've always has good food at Mama Mias.... but tonight we've had the best meal we've ever had here.
The new menu is fabulous, quality food, cooked to perfection.

After a previous visit where we waited over an hour for our pre booked table I was reluctant to come again... however, I was pleasantly surprised tonight... after a shaky start where we were sat waiting for a short while in the bar area for our table I accidentally knocked over my glass of wine, this was promptly replaced on the house as we were escorted to our table... I ordered the fillet steak tagliatelle, I have no words other than, amazing.... we were a party of 4 and all really enjoyed our food. The waiting staff were very attentive and even joined us for dessert shots! Overall, amazing food and a really great night, would not hesitate to come again!
Visited tonight with my boyfriend and parents, great atmosphere, excellent service the staff were friendly, very polite and went out of their way to accommodate us, me and my mum asked for a cocktail menu which they don't have but the waitress went out of her way to make us one which tasted absolutely amazing, the food is delicious and portion sizes are generous, quick service can't fault anything about tonight, just make sure you book a table before hand as it gets so busy! Had a fantastic evening would highly recommend, I will definitely come here again :)
Tonight we tried the bottomless prosecco night... have to say it was great value for money. Trying all the different types of prosecco was brilliant, and the food included was very tasty. We were almost too full to order from the menu. Still managed a desert though. Thank you to our lovely waiter and to all the lovely staff. Will be coming back again.
We used to visit this establishment quite often when we lived in Pontefract. This was our first visit for 11 years and was well worth the drive from Barnsley. It is still run by the same family and the service was second to none. The food was first class and all staff were very friendly. This is one of the best Italian restaurants we have visited for a long time. Will definitely be returning.

What can I say...fantastic food, superb service, friendly attentive staff a lovely bottle of Shiraz and an UN nameable complimentary aperitif invented by the waitress.
We will be returning soon and already planning on what to eat.
Short notice booking, then messed guys around a bit as more people turned up than booked for. Not a problem the guys just sorted it out. Great service and staff, and to top it all off excellent food. Everyone of us commented on how good the food was.

After visiting this restaurant (10 August 2018), I was so impressed I plan on returning again and recommending it to all my friends & family.
The service is polite, welcoming, chatty - after leaving you practically feel like one of the family! Service was prompt, and I loved that the chef also came out to ask what we thought of the food.
The food was gorgeous; loved the rice balls starter, the main - steak - was cooked to perfection, dessert - homemade creme brûlée - was also lovely, and all food was well presented. Portions were a very generous size. They had a nice selection of wines, gins, & liquors to choose from, as well as teas, coffees, and other drinks.
The restaurant is run by a lovely family. The decor is traditional, which I personally loved, and all hand painted by a local artist, who returns to add more portraits to the scene as the family grows - such a beautiful idea! There are also beautiful artworks around the restaurant of scenes inspired by Italy, including landscapes / seascapes and architecture.
Wheelchair access was good; there are two entrances, one with a small step, and the other completely flat. The restaurant itself is fully accessible; larger wheelchairs may slightly struggle with space, but all staff are very accommodating, willing to help, and happy to move furniture if needed.
All in all, a lovely experience; I cannot wait to visit again! :-)
Just been to mamma Mia's this evening, food and staff were amazing as always! Highly recommend, one of our favourite restaurants of all time.

Been here twice in the past month and we love it! The staff are so friendly and both times brought over some free shots to our table. The food is amazing and is not extortionate in price I would deffinalty recommend mamma mias to anyone
This was out first visit and we will certainly be going again, the place is great it was just like been on holiday, the staff are pleasant and the food was delicious, I had the Dijon Chicken with potatoes and Vegetables and it was very tasty, the bill was just over £40 for two courses and 2 drinks again very reasonable.
Well worth visit.

I'd not been since I was 16, for a friend's birthday (am now 43) having moved back to Pontefract, I will definitely be back, great food, great staff, we were both so impressed!
Mamma Mia's is brilliant with a great family atmosphere. Our kids were welcomed and the menu is so big there is something for everyone. We went early and were pleasantly surprised by an early bird menu that cost less than a take away! A great night out - we couldn't wait to recommend it to others.
I went two weeks with my friend and his wife. It was the first time I’ve been to Mamma Mia‘s for a long time. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. The staff were amazing. I would give it 10 out of 10 really nice people and the food were so special I wanted to take my own.

Beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and wonderful service. I’m on holiday visiting for the first time in the UK from the states and I have to say that this is the best Italian I’ve ever had.
Me and my family went on Tuesday night for food and it was amazing! And what topped our night of was our son is autistic and they did everything possible to help him enjoy going out for a meal (witch is something that my son does not like doing they also accommodated to his taste buds by allowing me to bring him yorkshire puddings and letting him eat with us so he did not feel left out! Thank you for an amazing meal and an amazing night. And a massive thank you for being so patient and understanding to my son with a disability 💙
A lovely family restaurant for both small and large groups - we were a large group and the service and hospitality exceeded expectations. The menu is diverse and includes all of the Italian classics - at great value for money prices. The bar area and parking out front is a bonus!

Lovely restaurant, the only thing that spoit it for us was... as our party was only 2... our table was at the side... right next to a beam (floor th ceiling)... so everytime someone walked past, they walked right up close, sometimes knocking things on the table... felt we had been squeezed in!
Aslo had to wait ages for my 2nd drink...we had to adk a 2nd time for another drink.... I had finished eating... they had forgotten!
Loved this place, small family run very friendly and a great atmosphere. There is a comfortable bar area separate from the restaurant. I didn't have to book in advance although it may be an idea to do so as it tends to get busy not long after opening at 5pm. The food was delicious and well priced. I sampled several dishes but my favourite was the meatfeast calzone but be warned its a monster ( but delicious) and I loved the pate starter. I would recommend this place if you love your Italian food. ❤👍
Having visited a couple of years ago- I didn't hold great expectations for my visit on Saturday. However- I was very pleasantly surprised! All the food we had was delicious and the staff were very attentive even though it was really busy. We showed up a little earlier than planned and they still got us our table quickly and let us order before we sat down so our food would be ready. We had a great experience and will definitely be returning. Thankyou!
Greeted by friendly staff, wonderful waiting area.....bar staff made us an amazing drink that wasn't even on the menu upon request.
Food was delightful and came in great time, Everything was fresh and portioned great.
Looking forward to coming back.
Amazing food, served by polite helpful memebers of staff. Everyone of them will go the extra mile from the customer, been a handful of times and everytime i visit the food is sensational. Cannot wait to return.
