The Ivy Bush is a lovely bar and restaurant with a beautiful little Airbnb. Sue was so friendly and her and her son helped us carry our stuff up. It's a pet friendly accommodation which is a huge plus. We enjoyed playing pool and grabbing a pint. What a lovely and relaxing time we had. Sue was very accomodating with ensuring we had fresh linen and even gave us a ball for my son to use. We had access to the garden to soak up some rare Welsh sunshine. Little touches like pencil crayons and local restaurant menus are great too. It has a wonderful big shower, and a cute little breakfast nook. In the kitchen is an oven, small fridge, microwave and gas hob. There is an iron and ironing board. Everything you need for a trip away. Would highly recommend it.

We went today for Sunday lunch (16/10) Absolutely unbelievable!! The beef literally fell apart with a fork!! The veg was beautiful and the gravy was delicious!! By far the best Sunday dinner we’ve had locally!! Superb

We went here for nothing more than an early pub supper. It turned out to be the best food we ate all week. The tapas was superb! Authentic? I'll say it was, without question, as good as anything you would eat in Spain and so very very tasty. Next time I'm in the Swansea area I know where I'm going for supper. I understand that Chef Naz will also cater for private functions so anyone with an event who wants Spanish food need look no further. 10 out of 10.

Lovely Tapas. Very tastefully done out. We were a big crowd to do tapas for but everyone enjoyed. Probably better to have buffet style another time. Cheaper local beers would be good.

This is honestly one of the best bars in the area. What a gem of a place. Beautifully refurbished with a relaxing ambience. Friendly staff. Our large group had every tapas dish on the menu. Every dish was delicious. The wine selection is top notch. We'll be back.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ Today I had my first full on Sunday dinner in 14 months and only my second in 30 months!😱 Todays gorgeous roast was at The Ivy Bush in Pontedawe, up in the valleys beyond Swansea. Roast beef, roast pork, full selection on vegetables including my favorite parsnips and extra gravy! Typing this I could actually eat it all again and with the cheesecake and ice cream that followed. Thanks to the proprietor, Dean Verbeeck, for a great afternoon, sorry we missed you. Next time!

Been twice in the last week, once new years eve and then with my muddy boots on after a long walk on the weekend, both visits were amazing, staff so friendly and willing to help, the food again was delish, especially the King prawns, has to be my favourite. It's so nice that it is local to us and you can either go in your walking gear or get dressed up for the evening, it's important to feel comfortable and that is exactly what they do there. A great find in Pontardawe with lovley walks around. Superb. A must visit.

Lovely food, the menu is limited to mainly tapas, but if that's what you like, it's good. Nice range of beer and cider

An excellent atmosphere there, the staff are friendly and pleasant, the drinks are very reasonably priced and there is a wide range on offer including cocktails of your choice made on request. There was live music and a great pub experience. Only issues was access to the rear bear garden, which was slightly tricky due to the uneven ground, however the bear garden was lovely with seating and tables and well maintained and pleasent. Overall my night at the ivy bush was a great one, deffinately one of the best pubs in pontardawe these days. I'm looking forward to my next night there. X ☺️

On 11th December a party of 20 of us had delicious food at The Ivy Bush. The service and staff were excellent. After food some of us sat in the bar where the log fire was burning. I highly recommend the Ivy Bush and will definitely return there.
