We stayed at the apartment above and had one evening meal here. It was sublime - one of the best we have had for a long time. The portions were perfect (not tiny like a lot of "art food" places or huge that can be off putting). The flavour was gorgeous. Strongly recommend. Friendly and cosy place.

We dined here recently with our two young boys - we had a wonderful evening. The food was exemplary and the staff genuinely warm. If you are in the area it should most definitely be on your list. The ambience of the place is lovely and you feel at home straight away. We will make it a tradition and will return everytime we are here. Wonderful place!!

We first popped in for a shandy on the Saturday early evening, and we’re very welcomed by the team. A quiet vibe, as they were closing up, nonetheless we enjoyed it and so came back Sunday morning for coffee and breakfast. We both opted for avocado, poached eggs, mushrooms and sourdough. £34 with an extra sausage feels quite pricey for breakfast but the cost of living is high right now, and we couldn’t complain about the quality or the service.

I don't review but felt compelled to this time. I've been to this restaurant over 15 years and last night we had a fabouluse meal for 4. One our best for a few years in any part of Cornwall. These guys need to be really complimented on all aspects of quality. Well done !

Thanks again to The Mowhay! The food was lovely, we both ordered fillet cooked blue/rare and they certainly didn’t skimp on the Maillard reaction - it was achieved on all sides of a fat piece of fillet each. Good Diane sauce and some sweet little roasted toms, also mushrooms and fries. 😋 we were not disappointed

Really really good lunch options. The best Brie & bacon ciabatta I have had and the salmon ciabatta and chicken liver parfait was voted delicious by the family. Staff just great and I highly recommend this little restaurant that knocks spots off it competitors around Polzeath. Johnny

Very limited menu. 3 starters and 3 mains but they were very well cooked and very filling. The place was cold as it's an old building but we were lucky we had a portable heater beside us. Staff were great and a pleasant evening

Fantastic little café hidden away up the hill from the beach. We made a bit of a pilgrimage to this place from the Padstow ferry drop-off as we'd seen the reviews and thought it worth the trek. It was a decent walk across multiple terrains, but very scenic and well worth it for the food at the end! We each had the equivalent of a New York deli sandwich in a baguette with some chips and a Cornish ale - pure heaven! It was sunny so we sat in the little garden outside, but when we went in to pay I wished we'd sat indoors because the decor was absolutely charming. So much to look at, so bright and airy and colourful...can't wait to return!
