After spending nearly an hour trying to find somewhere serving food before 6pm, we found this place. Absolutely lovely meal at The Three Pilchards this afternoon. Cider battered fish and chips were cooked beautifully and the eggs were possibly some of the best duck eggs I've ever had! Service was friendly and prompt with a nice atmosphere Will definitely return and would recommend 100%

My 6yr old son and I loved our food at the Three Pilchards Inn 😋🍽 My BLT sandwich was delicious and my son ate all his ham, egg and chips! 😋 Lovely view from the top terrace too. The staff were really friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist us. One waiter even chased away a wasp for us! We would happily go back next time we're in Polperro, and recommend it to others 👍

We had a lovely evening meal in the upstairs dining area - unfortunately there was no crab left for a crab sandwich but we shared the seafood platter which was delicious and plenty of it - would highly recommend and will definitely be paying another visit next time we are in the area - also very friendly and helpful young waiters

Exceptional ..... we ate in here twice over the busy Easter period and both times the service and food was fantastic. All staff were friendly and made us as a family with 2 kids and a dog feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning at the new year.

We have eaten and had drinks at the Three Pilchards on many occasion on our visits to Polperro and it didn’t fail to disappoint yesterday. I had monkfish scampi which was delicious and my husband and son had scampi/fish n chips. The only disappointment (probably a blessing) was no dessert menu Love the new carpet too! Always feels so homely and friendly

After a long walk along the coast from lansallos car park to Polperro we stopped at the three pilchards public house. there was eight in our party and I can honestly say everyone of us had a wonderful meal. I went for the traditional Ham Egg and chips and it was first class. The service was second to none all the staff was polite and attentive and made our half way stop the highlight of the day. The walk was fantastic as well rain held off and the views from the cliff walk was breath taking.

Warm welcoming dog friendly pub. Really friendly bar staff and a very relaxing atmosphere. We took out time and we're there for a special lunch. Great food. Definitely a step up from your expected "Pub grub". Good portion sizes and a wide menu selection. Get there early to avoid disappointment.

The perfect place to eat in this beautiful village. The food is amazing and plentiful. A wide selection of cornish gins, ales and ciders. The service is so friendly and made to feel so welcome. Highly recommend the fish & chips! The steak and ale pie is a must too!

Great local pub. Went over to have early lunch, and it was wonderful. I had prawns in garlic butter, served with salad, bread, and butter on the side. The prawns were cooked beautifully, the bread was soft, and the salad was fresh. Truly delightful. We were lucky to get a table because it was very busy afterwards. The bonus is that the pub is surrounded by beautiful areas.

Decent food in a great location. Managed to get a walk-in table here on a Monday evening in August at 6pm without much trouble, although I suspect it's more difficult later in the week. The terrace is lovely and it's great sitting outside to eat while looking out over Polperro. The food itself was good and decent value for money. We shared some white bait for starters and for mains we both had the scallops and prawns with chips. The scallops and prawns were delicious and beautifully cooked, however the chips were a bit dark (oil too hot or cooked too long). Knocking off a star for the chips, and also the fact that you have to pay at the bar before your food is delivered - not a fan of that.

What a fantastic place! Great atmosphere, music, service is quick and very friendly. We really liked the food, full of flavour. The cabbage was so nice ! Also fish and chips the best in the UK !! Absolutely beautiful, not greasy, chips were amazing and crunchy and so was the batter. Really happy we found this place!

We came in for lunch and for a table right away. The views of Polperro from the top most deck are absolutely spectacular, and for that reason alone I would recommend heading up. You can also see seagull nests and their little chicks from up here. Orders are placed at the bar for drinks and food. The food we ordered turned out to be quite delicious - the cod was fresh and the bean chilli was flavorful! Quite a few vegetarian options on their menu, which is a big plus for someone like me! Service is friendly!

On the last day out of our Cornwall holiday this year, we set out on a mission to find the tastiest fish and chips. We scoured Looe in the early afternoon peering into restaurants and cafes; surveying menus; surreptitiously eyeing plates of food on tables. Unimpressed, we held out for better. With stomachs rumbling, we headed off to see Polperro for the last time. We stood to one side for a group of German tourists to take a photograph of ' The Three Pilchards ' They thanked us and said, 'you should eat in here, it is excellent!' Enough said! In we went, and they were absolutely right! ✅️ Juicy white cod in beautiful crunchy batter; topped with a garnish of pea shoots, with proper handcut chips and garden peas. Curry sauce and Tartare sauce were served on the side. A beautiful plate! 🤤😋👌 Best fish and chips ever. Mission accomplished! We will return next time for sure.
