All the waiting staff were lovely, the food was really nice, garden lovely to hang out in on a sunny afternoon but the bar manager was incredibly miserable. It didn't spoil our day out but it did give us something to laugh about on the way home. Didn't even say thank you when we complimented his food and staff and paid a tip.
Would still recommend and I set anyone the challenge of making him smile.
This was our first visit for a while and we had our dog with us. The food was a bit disappointing e.g. the broccoli was undercooked and tough. The pork belly was also tough and I had to ask for a sharper knife. The service was friendly and efficient. The pub could do with some redecoration. The gents, in particular would benefit from an upgrade. Overall a reasonable place but I wouldn't make a point of just going there. A shame as it used to be a heaving pub in a lovely location.
We had a very warm welcome having cycled from Tunbridge Wells using the Avenue Verte. Excellent lunch with a nice local ale.
One of our favourite places to go for fresh, great big portion sizes! Its so warm and friendly, with lots of little niche ornaments and pictures to look at...as well an accompanied cute black cat that wanders around! The atmosphere is always buzzing, its best to book prior as most days are jam packed! Probably more of a family / friend place than romantic though, as its small and not too intimate with tables close together.
The value for money is brilliant, I have never had a bad meal here! They strive on quality.
I had the gammon with eggs. I was so full I had to take some ham home! My partner had the lamb shank which wasn't very fatty so it went down a treat with mint sauce.
Obviously their banoffee pie is a MUST as it was created here! We luckily shared as it was such a generous serving (there's no way I would have managed it alone.)
Overall, would always definitely recommend!
We were staying locally in an Airbnb, so we decided to try this place for lunch. We then went back for dinner and again the following evening. Everything was great. We were a group of six, and we all had different meals. They were all tasty and well cooked. Great drinks selection at the bar, and the staff were all welcoming and friendly.
Although it was too cold to sit outside, there was a really nice space with tables and benches, so I'm sure it would be amazing once the weather warms up.
The landlord even came to the rescue when we needed a bandage for one of our dogs. (He had recently been to the vet and decided to chew at his stitches)
Such a lovely country pub.
Great food for the price, fantastic setting and free parking. Lovely outside dining area and garden with children's play area, safe and secure away from traffic. We'll worth a visit!!
Just had the best Sunday Roast! Will definitely be back!
Really good salad meal, sitting in the Yew Tree's lovely garden. Cracking pub; good menu; splendid staff. End of (As they say...)!
Friendly waitress, lovely food with a very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
Nice Sunday Roast. Service spot on. Friendly, helpful staff.
Lovely pub with great service, great food and nice gardens. Goats are fun too.
Stopped by for an impromptu lunch on Mother’s Day. Staff found us a table, and we ordered the roast. Honeyed parsnip, sautéed red cabbage, carrot and swede, roast potatoes, a side of cauliflower cheese with a sausage meat ball. Very well cooked and came out piping hot. Massive brownie points for hot food. Plenty of gravy and excellent Yorkshire pudding.
Really excellent value too.
Lovely food, fast service nice atmosphere
