Visited and dined after Graduation Event as a celebratory family meal. Wonderful service from the whole Ocean View crew. Efficient and attentive crew members from the Bar Team, Welcome Host and Waiting Staff. Food choices catering for all requirements and not overpriced as some places can be. Will definitely visit again when back in Plymouth and would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you for being the perfect end destination for such a special day.

Spent my late afternoon on Monday there with a mocktail and some savory snack. At this moment of the day, the bar was totally empty. The interior and sea view is gorgeous with more space downstairs but I didn’t explore.

Stylish bar and cafe themed on an art deco style ocean liner. I love it. You know you're in a good place when they make so much effort to make the restrooms loom equally stylish. Recommended.

So an update on my last review, which was a while ago. No change in the Bar, great location and view and of course the drinks. However since then we've been for dinner and I can honestly say it's well worth the visit. Great value, excellent service and great food. We loved it, and we will have dinner again. Cheers Ocean View! Previous Review - We've been watching the development of the Dome for a while and on the 1st November it opened. So what did we do? We checked it out. When we ventured in you could say they still had the soft opening in progress, however what a venue. Great interior and the view is outstanding. The staff are well presented, still finding their feet but a great effort. We had a couple of cocktails, a Espresso Martini and a Gin Sling. Over all a well deserved effort on their first few days. Good luck and well be back.

A fantastic location overlooking Plymouth sound from the concave floor to ceiling windows. Robert, our waiter, was very professional, engaging and not over the top giving us ample time to decide on our drinks and dinning choices. A good selection of cocktails, so it was nice to try something new. My mains, sticky ox cheek, was recommended by Robert, and I would also recommend it to anyone else. Easy listening music was playing in the background which was at a nice volume and didn't interfere with our conversation, only to be stopped twice to wish dinners' a happy birthday. The overall experience was memorable and I would definitely be returning and recommending it.

WOW. Firstly what a beautiful Art Deco conversion from this interesting, historic building. When you walk in the space has the wow factor, the staff welcomed us and took us to our table over looking the sea with panoramic views. I love the attention to detail here with beautiful crockery and furnishings. The waitress from Argentina was so professional and couldn’t do Enough for us. My starter, which was a scotch egg, was cooked perfectly! Crispy shell and a soft egg in the middle. My main course the pork belly was so tender with crispy crackling and I loved the bubble and squeak. It was also a great main course size. The sticky toffee pudding was so light and fluffy. With clotted cream it was the perfect choice. Really the best I’ve had for a long time. The restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday night which gave it a lovely atmosphere. The head chef Dav is doing an excellent job! You should Go. Plymouth should be very pleased to have this venue.

We popped in for a drink earlier. Greeted by Saffie who was warm and friendly. The bar tender was polite but didn't really seem inviting and the coffee he made wasn't great but drinkable. G

It was our first visit to The ocean view at the Dome..& we must say what a BEAUTIFUL place no wonder it is called The ocean view. .The decor was so amazing & furniture. Your staff were all so cheerful & very welcoming when we walked in & so attentive. We only went in for coffee this time & we had some lovely cherry shortbread .we were so impressed with all your staff but especially Victoria she was so kind & caring such a lovely lady.As it was our friends special Birthday. The dome & all your staff are a credit to Plymouth. We will be back with more friends for a meal next time. We have seen our tables. One for six people. Thankyou again. Enjoy the fireworks. Please Thank Victoria.

4/4.5 out of 5. Overall pleasant experience. Friendly service & good food. We had the 7oz Beef Burger & the Chicken Supreme. A good burger, and the chicken supreme was lovely, the sauce being the winner for me. Obviously in a great setting, couldn’t beat it! Only thing I would say is it’s a tad pricey for some so would maybe be more of an occasion or a treat visit. We will be back again :)

Magnificent romantic restaurant “Ocean View at The Dome”. A historic venue it used to be a museum before a plaque was opened by the late Queen Elizabeth II - I’m sure it said this in menu. Outstanding stunning venue, blue, teal, turquoise interior. The ladies toilets were gorgeous. 1920s theme! Beautiful sea views of the plymouth sound, Drakes Island. Fabulous for a special occasion. The champagne elderflower lemon was glorious, delicious! I think it was called Ocean View something - special cocktail on the same menu as the old fashion. I didn’t enjoy the limoncello - it reminded me of sherbet but not in a pleasant way. We had two red wines with our meal. Reds: The Chocolate Block, Boekenhoutskloof, South Africa, 2020; Pinot Noir Saintsbury, USA, 2019; Amarone Classico Costasera, Masi, Italy 2016 - are very delicious. Third red wine was a dessert. Food wise: My starter was baked Brie with cranberry, my main was a jackfruit carvery, it was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding as a dessert. There wasn’t much range for vegetarians on the menu perhaps this was because we came on a Sunday. My partner had trio of pork for main and ham hock Turin for starter. The staff were very attentive. We had such a lovely time. Will definitely be back!

Victoria, our host, provided an excellent service and made us feel comfortable. The food was delicious and we were impressed by the quality for the cost. We shall definitely be returning in the future.

Popped in for morning coffee while visiting Plymouth. Coffee and cake for just a fiver while enjoying a stunning view of Plymouth Sound. Service was excellent. The whole experience was relaxing. Looking at the drinks menu and the selection of different shaped glasses this would be a fun place for a sundowner.

Normally I would start a review by telling you about how good the food was! however I have to start with Adam! Our exceptional waiter last night 👌 This really does have to be one of the best services, we have ever received in Plymouth👏 We were blown away by how attentive he was, whilst we was debating ovet food options, he came over and said I over heard you debate and I thought I’d come and give you a helping hand, he knew every meal inside out, and the way he explained was exactly as it tasted, it made it so much more enjoyable! even when we couldn’t decide what drinks, he’d come over and give us recommendations and Just that extra mile, when he watched us struggle to take a selfie, he came over it and asked would you like me to take your photo for you. A lot of people could learn a lot from Adam and I think he’s got a very bright future ahead. Secondly the food was another level, it really was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Everything from start to finish was fantastic, the full place looked beautiful, extremely professional, clean and super friendly! I cannot wait to come back. Oh and they even offered to take your jackets and if you decide to keep them they say if you change your mind please let us know and we will come and collect them, everything was just adorable 👌

We felt it was a bit pricey. Would have liked a fried egg but only poached on the menu which came as a hard yolk and bacon was undercooked. My daughter's scrambled egg was Luke earm. No other person was dining which is always a bit uncomfortable. Beautiful place, we looked at the afternoon/evening menu and felt for us the food was too fancy/different so would not go, however it must appeal to some. We will not be returning as we wanted to see what it was like whilst the offer of buy one get one half price breakfast.
