Thank you ladies for our wonderful food tonight. The chips and chicken curry were delicious! And wow you weren't joking when you said the cheese cake was hotel standard! It was out of the world! Love this chip shop. Always pop in if I'm in the area. Sat outside for 45mins as wanted to grab chips and chicken curry before I left Plymouth. Well worth the wait 😊

Well, it has to be said, if you find a very good Fish & Chip shop, stick to it like I do.
What a great local chippy. A real find in Plymouth. Fantastic value, the portions were huge. All the food was cooked fresh and tasted great. We will definitely call hete again when we are in the area.
Travelled across town to buy our chips as Benbows have been around for many years (I remember going there as a student - over 30 years ago) whilst being good value they always sold the best chips! So many chippy's chips are dry and hard chips nowadays so I had high hopes for Benbows and we weren't disappointed!
Tried Benbows tonight for the first time after being a regular at Francines. I can honestly say that Benbows now have 5 new customers. The service was excellent and they went above and beyond with every question we had regarding their food. As for the food, it was simply delicious. Fish was cooked to perfection, batter was dry and non greasy and when they say large......it is LARGE. Chips were lovely and same again, dry and non greasy. We couldn’t finish the portions we got. The sausages were delicious and the sides were very, very tasty. Spotlessly clean shop too. All in all it was a lovely first time experience in this little gem of a chippy and you can be rest assured we will certainly be back for more. Very impressed 10/10 well done.
Absolutely fantastic chippy. Not been for about 10 years and it's just as good as I remember. Prawn curry on chips for a fiver is worth every penny. Brilliant staff who are really helpful and friendly! Definitely worth a stop there if in the area.
Wanted a traditional british chippy before heading back to our french home. What we were served was excellent, freshly prepared piping hot crispy battered cod with chips, generous portions, friendly staff. Highly recommend you search this one out.
Friendly service ,good freshly cooked food. Really appreciated by all, including the spicy vegan burger eaters. Good batter on the fish and large portions of everything. Homemade tartare delicious. Very good value for money ,recommend 100%

OMG they even serve Saveloys! A rarity nowadays. Would have been 5 star if the Saveloy was battered! And if that's all I can say negative that's got to be positive. Set down a side street this unexpected delight of a traditional fish and chip shop truly goes the extra mile for it's customers. Great food, good portions, lovely staff. We will be returning and Highly recommending to all.

First time at this chippy, my goodness will definitely not be the last, superb fish and chips, best we ever had, delivered piping hot and on time.
Really impressed, was over charged on my order without me realising, had a phone call within minutes to say they were returning the overpayment with the driver.

Haven't visited this place in a while but its definitely our go to chippy from now on. The fish was the best we've had in a long time. Cant wait to try the dirty fries next time, they looked really good. Staff very friendly and welcoming too.
