Upscale Chinese cuisine. Flavors are spot on. A big table of Chinese men also vouches for how legit the place is. Impeccable service by wait staff. Portions are reasonable- if you come hungry, make sure to order an entree for each guest, there won't be leftovers. The dessert steamed buns were THE BOMB. I'd never had them before and was very happily surprised by everything about them- texture, package, taste (not too sweet). They will be a bit much after a full dinner so I'd share those.
Decent location in town. Prices are pretty high though if you order multiple dishes to share so be prepared but food was very good.
Finest in Plymouth, along with the Noodle Lounge above it these restaurants cannot be faulted for Cantonese food. I have been many times, both the service and food are first class. Staff very friendly and make it an enjoyable experience all round. Food is 10/10.
We were expecting decent Chinese food, but what we got was actually some of the tastiest dim sum either of us had ever eaten. Combined with the incredibly polite and attentive service, it was quite a find. We came back again two days later and it was just as good.
Will certainly be patronising Hakka many more times, a real gem.
We discovered Hakka by luck and we are so glad that we came by it. The food was great and cooked excellently. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly with top service. Lastly, the atmosphere was spot on.
We left as very happy customers. :)
Recently ate in Hakka for only the second time and it was a pleasure. Can't believe we waited so long between the 1st and 2nd visit.

We went there for the first time last night. The food was excellent, the best weve had in a long time. The 2 girls who were serving were great too, we werent hassled or rushed but they were there and we didnt have to wait long for anything. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be going back again, regularly.

Excellent if you like genuine Cantonese food, with comfortable seating and pleasant decoration. In a prime Barbican location it's a firm favourite with local Chinese, always a good indicator of food quality
Waitress was really polite and inviting. Lots of choice. Well cooked food. Not really sweet or salty like other Chinese restaurants. Probably one of the best I've had.
Just had a meal in Hakka, and I can confidently say it was the best Chinese food I’ve tasted, the waitress was very attentive and we followed her recommendations... she was spot on!
Friendly staff with authentic freshly cooked food, which was even tweaked for my spicy taste. Meeting the chef was fantastic.

Excellent food, staff need to brush up on their English and perhaps the restaurant needs to consider getting in some draught beers as bottled beer extremely expensive.
