This place was a happy find. I wanted fish to eat while visiting Plymouth and ideally an independent restaurant, rather than a pub or a chain. Platters suited this perfectly, although I was lucky to get a table in this small and busy venue! There was plenty of seafood and fish options for starters and mains. I went for the Plymouth Clam Chowder and the trio of grilled fish with chips, both of which were excellent.

Excellent food and service. Fishermen’s pie is a must try, it’s very creamy and buttery. Seafood platter is a very good bang for buck too.

A cubby hole of a fish shop in a busy part of town known as The Barbican. The servers were ever so efficient and helpful. The mussels were so meaty, the king prawns amazing and the chowder was hearthy and boiling. For the price of a burger back home we could eat an amazing sea food selection. Well worth it!!!!

Ordered the lobster and a large variety of seafood dishes. Seafood dishes were awesome but the lobster was overcooked. Would recommend the mussuels and paella but not the lobster.

Great sea food cooked well. Great service when I arrived after lunch time. Plenty of options on menu for fish lovers. Hard to find any fault. Competitively priced. I liked the new interior and exterior revamp. Traveled past this place all my life living in Plymouth and never visited. Worth a re visit

Four of us went in for lunch. Two had the seafood paella which was excellent with lots of mussels, prawns and calamari and two had the large cod and chips and demolished the lot. The service is always helpful, friendly and attentive and Platters has become one of our more regular eateries.

We friends went in Plymouth for a couple of days holidays and tried their food, it was just lovely. We ended up going there twice again just to eat their seafood. Oh my gosh! what a dish . We always had their trio fish Platter with garlic bread and steak cut fries with their special tartare sauce. Staff were kind and kept on topping up our favourite tartar sauce. I recommend anyone if they are in Plymouth, it is a must go guys. Won't be disappointed. Restaurant takes a bit longer to put the food on the table ,but it's worth it as they have to freshly prepare it.

My husband and I had the sharing seafood platter, it was delicious. A huge amount of fish plus a bowl of chips and reasonably priced.

Went here for a family meal. The food was delicious. The starter portions were huge. Seafood was very fresh. The service however was a little disappointing, the waitresses that took our food order seemed to have an attitude for no reason. However the gentleman at front of house was extremely friendly and welcoming. I would visit again.

A family visit early on Friday evening. We enjoyed a mixture of dishes including grilled plaice, bream and gurnard plus the children's cod and chips. All were excellent, well cooked and plentiful. The portions of fish were generous especially the plaice and child's cod and chips. The chips were the best we have had in years. Staff very welcoming and friendly. A great find. We will be back.

Fantastic, fresh fish, served simply and tasting wonderful. Lots of choice, but for those who are “indecisive”🤔, try their “Trio of fish” from the specials board….you won’t be disappointed. Oh….and the chips are very yummy too. Don’t visit Plymouth without going to Platters. (we live over the border in Cornwall, so how lucky are we to be able to go when we want😉).

Nice, and cozy place. The food was really tasty: I had a big cod with chips and peas. A proper fish and 🍟

Absolutely lovely seafood and service. I’m not a huge seafood fan but my wife is so we gave it a go. So glad we did as the food was so tasty and fresh. So good in fact that we ate there three nights in a row. Staff were amazing and accommodated us two nights in a row with no booking, which I would recommend doing in holiday season as it’s very popular. All I can say is thanks for making our holiday even better.

To be honest, this is not good enough as a Chinese comment App saying. The only 4 stars reason is the waiter is really kind and nice. The paella I ordered is so sour with the tomato sauce and so bland even if adding the salt by myself. The scallops and king prawns are just okay. I thought the problem is we didn't order to many seafoods. Another thing is when we tried other restaurants in Plymouth we found this restaurant is the best. We are shocked.

Proposed to my wife here in 1991. Went back in our 30th year of marriage. Still as good as ever. Helpful and accommodating staff. Great food and amazing value. So good, in fact, we went back the following evening. If you like your seafood, its well worth a visit.
