Claire and the staff at Fishermans Arms are some of the best people in Plymouth. The beer and spirits are fantastic - the atmosphere is great - and I specially recommend the Fisherman`s platter, the Mr Jones Ale, the Weihenstephaner Bier, and of course, the Pusser Rum ! Hasta luego, mis amigos Claire y familia - venga a mi aqui en Gijon, Espana !
What a hidden gem. So glad our friend wanted to meet up here, loved it so much I've introduced The Fisherman's Arms to others. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and of course the drinks on offer are the best, although I'm a gin drinker ( good gins too) I do have to mention the Summerskills ales. Oh and if you have a dog it's a very dog friendly pub, they even have a selection on the menu for them!
Excellent friendly staff, excellent food, dog friendly and there was even a menu for the pooches . My wife, myself and Harry the Jack Russell thoroughly enjoyed our meals. A real hidden gem and highly recommended 🖒
What an absolute hidden treasure! The staff are always friendly & NOTHING is ever too much trouble. I’ve been for meals as couples & had group bookings (last one this Saturday) & the food, service, staff & setting are spot on! Don’t just drop in without booking to avoid disappointment but you won’t be disappointed when you do book! Massive well done guys!
Fabulous food and service every time ❤️ Our favourite place to eat in Plymouth,(from a Plymouthian) great food with a fabulous service from all of the team.....love Mr Jones as he works so hard........highly recommended, a must to visit in Plymouth as the best place to eat 😍 Thank you Claire and team for the great meals 😍

Fantastic little pub, great setting and very welcoming. The food is awesome with a good atmosphere. Will be using this pub a lot more in the future.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal this evening after waiting a long time to be able to come as they are always fully booked! Highly recommended! A lovely atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming staff and VERY dog friendly! Dexter loved his meal which came our with our mains and was served with a bowl of water too! Will definitely be back again soon!
Visited here just yesterday, as I have many times! The food was absolutely divine and as usual there was a warm and friendly atmosphere....i would highly recommend a visit to this true gem of Plymouth!....
Many years since I last tried this pub...definitely be back as nice decor, friendly staff, good beer and allow dogs.
Love it here... tucked away in a side street of the Barbican, quaint, but welcoming atmosphere.
Came here today with my mum for lunch, mum had the steak, myself, the Fishermans Gumbo...... delicious. Great value for money, served by friendly attentive staff, will definitely be back for more ........ thank you.
This place is amazing. If you are looking for a homely kinda pub, then this is the place. The alcoholic drinks variety is outstanding. But the main choice for this pub is how DOG FRIENDLY they are. Your fur baby can get a proper dogs meal, along with yourself of course. Mine had the delightful sausage surprise and they even have an ale named after their dog Mr Jones. I highly recommended it to all.
Great pub, lovely atmosphere inside and the food is the best pub food I’ve had in Plymouth. There’s a nice range of beers (recommend you try the Mr Jones beer, named after the landlady’s dog), the pub is dog friendly, and the landlord and landlady are both dog lovers, with treats and water available from the bar. Much nicer venue than some others around the Barbican area. Calm atmosphere. Great place for a visit with friends. Will certainly be going back.
Eaten here twice now, food well priced and quality good. Well decorated pub, good atmosphere and very busy. Huge spirit selection and good pint of red stripe.
Great location, great food, great ambience, one of my fave pubs.
You always get a nice crowd in here and its one of Plymouths hidden gems as its off the beaten track. Its dog friendly and very comfy.
We had a couple of starters and they were super filling and yummy, can't rate this pub highly enough :)
I was recommended the venue by a work colleague and was lucky enough to get a booking (they managed to squeeze me in). The food is phenomenal as is the service. I had a chat with some locals who were also welcoming and happy engage. I will definitely be coming back for the menu and specials. Highly recommended the gumbo. Very friendly staff, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A real gem of a place.
Good food. Good beer. Good atmosphere. Awesome people. 5/7 ;)
Would recommend!
Very pleasant pub to visit. Just out of the way on a quiet road. Away from the crowds .food is excellent and service is very good..it is wise to book if eating..
Off the beaten path but worth it to take the time to find. Wonderful, friendly staff. Best Olives I have had. Great fish and chips. We will return before we leave Plymouth.
Without doubt the best pub food I've had in Plymouth. I had the Mackerel Pate with warm bread and onion chutney as a starter which was a good size, presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. For main I had the tray baked short crust steak and ale pie with creamy mash and seasonal vegetables with gravy, and I went for the stilton extra, and oh my god, the portion was generous and a taste to die for. My partner only managed half until I said to try the separate pot of gravy, at which point she started again. Would loved to have tried the deserts but all but had one carried out as it was. Absolutely fantastic selection of beers, ciders, wines and spirits. The landlady is absolutely lovely and works as hard if not harder than anyone. I'm so sorry I didn't take pics of the food but when it arrived I just dived in and couldn't stop. Went on a Monday night expecting it to be quiet, not at all when we arrived it was almost full. You can see from my pics it was quite late when I took them and the pub had thinned out. Cannot recommend highly enough. If you like really good, home cooked, well presented fresh food then this is a must. Will be back in the next couple of days and cannot wait. Highly recommended... Back again, sorry I went for just the main but will remember to take pics and post this time. Most excellent 👍
