A proper local pub……oh how we should treasure these. The local (Anstruther) ale was spot on, only matched by the friendly locals. Will be back……soon……and possibly for food as that looks great as well. Very dog friendly 🐶👌

The West End Bar was the most welcomed respite from a hot day in Pittenweem. It's a few blocks away from the seaside but offers a calm and quaint pub atmosphere. I wish we had asked the name of the manager, but she took the time to tell us about the French wine nights and the way she lit up speaking of it was really lovely. She is clearly passionate about good drinks and good food. Very hospitable. And the food! Absolutely delicious. Fresh treacle soda bread and focaccia with rosemary olive oil and balsamic vinegar, Scottish cheddar (like a hard mozzarella with an old cheddar taste) with fig jam and stone baked crackers, a chorizo quesadilla, and a goat cheese salad with walnuts, plus a nice red wine... A feast! Cannot recommend the West End Bar enough!

Recommend...My husband had the trout and I had the roast vegetables tart, both fabulous. Definitely would return. Menu was very good. Also our Dog was most welcome which definitely is appreciated.

What a little gem in Pittenweem, sadly we only discovered this at the end of our holiday. Don’t be fooled by what looks like a little local bar, we were warmly welcomed through the bar to another room with the atmosphere of an intimate French Bistro restaurant, tastefully decorated and lit by candlelight. A menu with something for everyone and produce from the locality, everything was cooked very well and it was delicious, the home made treacle soda bread and focaccia was superb, the steak frites cooked to perfection and let’s not mention the sticky toffee pudding, we succumbed and were not disappointed. Thank you to the hosts who welcomed us in and we enjoyed a pre dinner drink in the bar with the friendly regulars. Would definitely eat here again, would advise booking in advance.

While staying one village over we were walking through Pittenweem. We were lucky enough to get their final dinner spot reservation. Couldn’t have been more satisfied. We started with the “pint of prawns” which were incredibly fresh - just delivered that morning by a man named David. We had various dishes and each was delicious. We finished with sorbet for dessert. I think what I loved most was the owner and the people who worked here. They were incredibly kind and thoughtful. I loved that the menu had on the bottom the supplier’s name for each type of food they use. All local individuals or small local businesses. I would definitely Italy recommend to travelled or local alike. You’ll be welcomed whole-heartedly.

We had an amazing meal here on our first night of our holidays. Food was absolutely delicious - locally smoked trout a real highlight - and service so welcoming for us and our Westie.

Called for a drink came back for a meal. Seems to be the rarest of combinations, a place in that balances a good bar and food .easily the best food we had in a week's stay , fresh local and presented with care all at a reasonable price . What more could you wish for

Laura, the barmaid is a credit to the pub. So friendly & welcoming. We had Sunday lunch but they don't offer a roast. We both had scampi & chips & shared the cheeseboard for dessert. The crackers were small compared to the lump of cheese but we were given some more. We were the only ones in there eating as the arts festival had just finished. Dog friendly which is always a bonus in our eyes.

We went into the west end pub a bit later to see if we could eat, we had two golden retrievers with us. Laura was fantastic and managed to get us a meal, the scampi was so delicious! We booked for lunch tue next day in the beer garden and again Laura was so kind and helpful and a great host, got my friends niece a taxi and just made everything so easy. Bowled over by the friendly service! Would go back here in a second, thanks to Laura! Review from Georgia, Lisa and Ghillie and Cooper the dogs! Xxx
