What a wonderful experience my daughter, my sis in law and I had at this little treasure in Pittenweem!! The owner and the waitress Fiona, are absolutely delightful and so warm and generous! We had the best hot chocolate ever ! The breakfast crepes were so delicious. The morning we were to leave Pittenweem, they opened the cafe early for us so we could have breakfast. Fresh scones and crepes just for us! I have never felt more welcome in any restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant!! Can't wait to go back!!

Amazing quality and taste of food and drink with attention to detail such as the inclusion of a small animal chocolate with each drink. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly with the owner happy to chat with customers. The cafe itself was cosy with character. A selection of wooden puzzles / games were available on the window sills for those customers wishing to have a little fun while the drinks were being made. Orange hot chocolate recommended and well worth a visit.

Despite being very busy we were welcomed and shown to a table and promptly served with warming drinks including flat white coffees and a chocolate orange hot chocolate. I enjoyed a freshly made lemon sugar crepe on a drench damp day the coal fire was also very welcome. On the way out a stop for some chocolate gingers was a must. We will be back.

Seriously good hot chocolate in such a warm, cosy atmosphere – friendly staff and fantastic food, especially when there's a selection of gluten-free and vegan options too.

The most delicious hot chocolate ever - I went for the salt caramel - and lovely staff. It was a great place to work on a wet morning. Thank you.

Sophia wanted to create a fusion between local produce and influences from around the world in her wonderful café, and in this she has certainly succeeded. From her wonderfully indulgent hot chocolates, cacao tea infusions, to her other signature dishes of mixed bean soup, and her deliciously nourishing thick mixed bean stew - made with cocoa, The Cocoa Tree Café offerings delightfully satisfy the senses leaving customers with the feel good factor that only comes from tasting the creations of such a master artisan as Sophia certainly is. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly xxx

Have reviewed this place before - but still the best hot chocolate in the world! Their bean soup is equally delicious and totally recommended after a coastal walk from Anstruther. Lovely atmosphere.

Such a wonderful place to have some amazingly delicious food. I've tried a bit of everything with chocolate and it was so tasty. As a belgian I love some good chocolate and you don't find it everywhere but here it was just a little bomb of taste in your mouth . They have different type of chocolate to eat but also to make hot chocolate at home . The service was wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful and took the time to have a little chat with us to explain everything about the chocolates but also about what to see and do on the coast . When we're again in Pittenweem we will definitely make a stop again .

We’ve been coming to the Cocoa Tree as part of our visits to the Pittenweem Art Festival for the last 15 years or so, and it’s always wonderful. The hot chocolate is superb, and the food delicious: thank you!

Good hot chocolate, crepes were not that filled nor hot. Chocolate cake was good, but for the price quite small. Lovely atmosphere inside with the fire though. Overall, good experience but was slightly pricey for what we got.

Lovely place. You can eat in the tiny courtyard, in the cafe, or on tables outside during the festival. Chocolate is top whack. BLT delicious, and the crepes looked wonderful too. Worth looking out if you are in the village... Or just passing through !

Had an outside table, which was excellent since we had the dogs with us. Food and hot Chocolate was wonderful after walking from Elie plus the lady who took our order and converted us both to P protein milk with a small sample so definitely worth 5 stars. Recommend Mango Lassi plus any of the Facacia rolls

Lovely food and the best hot chocolate. We bought chocolates, hot chocolate and a chocolate bar to go. We were on a hike in the sun and the owner insisted on hand delivering our products to our accommodation so as to not spoil the chocolate. Service at its best!!! Check out the Karmasutra chocolates. They're not on display.

Like the small fishing village with historic harbor and many art galleries. Even better when we stopped by to take a rest and have a cup of coffee at the Cocoa Tree. The waitress were very friendly and helpful, coffees were nicely prepared and their warm ginger cake with cream was excellent! They are famous of chocolate and we tasted a piece each as each cup came with one nice piece. Too much to taste their many varieties of chocolates.

Probably the best hot chocolate I've had in a while. Simple familiar food but full of flavour. Worth every bite and every penny. Definitely going back if I'm ever in the area.

Paid a visit to this wee gem a few months back .When looking from outside I got the impression the place was small inside. However as I entered The Cocoa Tree shop it is very roomy and very cosy. Enough tables to have quite alot of people sitting in to eat and drink. I had a Focaccia roll with Bacon and Egg. It was lush the nicest roll I have ever tasted, soft crunchy and delicious. The hot chocolate was also very yummy and delicious. The staff serving so very friendly . The whole atmosphere of the place so relaxing. The tables had little trinkets built inside the top of the tables. Memories of the past perhaps? I did wonder to whom they belonged and what of the history of that person who had owned them. So I have given this shop 5 stars and would recommend everyone to pay a visit.I will be back to taste the tasty rolls again very soon.
