What a stunning family restaurant with a bring your own bottle policy. Being located at one of the more rural parts of the island shouldn't put you off visiting. Being right on the seaside makes it one of the best for views. The menu changes every few weeks and they use mostly local ingredients. Get yourself over for some great food that you can tell is made with love and care.
Called here for lunch and had a lovely baked potato with salad. The salad dressing was delicious and the chef's own recipe we were told. The evening menu looked excellent with lots of local produce on offer.
Had a delicious lemon tart for desert. Very friendly lady served us. Don't be put off by the road works on the bridge as there is parking in between the two sets of traffic lights and we managed to park a 7.1m motorhome there.
Ideal place to stop for a bite to eat or a meal. The food and service was fantastic from start to finish. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating options, on our visit inside the restaurant there were two couples and outside there were cyclists and people with dogs.
We were accommodated on this occasion when we stopped as we had no prior planning on this location. On arrival we noticed the reserved plaque on tables, so if you are planning to pass this fab restaurant and want to make sure there is a table available you can book ahead.
Salmon & mashed potatoes & peas and steak sandwich with fries & pepper sauce were beautifully prepared and reasonably priced. Well worth stopping by! 👌
very comfortable restaurant, good location (located on a main road). our service (we came for dinner) was lovely, the two women who run the dining room were very kind and efficient. the food was amazing, simple concept but well-done, almost as if your mother made it! I ordered the slow-cooked beef and others at my table had lamb, salmon, and cod. All were delicious. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a tasty, warm meal.
Beautifully set on the coastline. Friendly service and a menu packed with local produce. Guineafowl stuffed with haggis was delicious. Good for kids too. BYOB.
We recently had a meal at the lighthouse restaurant lovely food and great service
Beautifully cooked food and lovely service. Vegetarian option very limited (one choice) and expensive.
Our coach group was allowed access to a closed for the cafe the afternoon, where soup and sandwiches were available. A rare treat for most, but for myself I skipped lunch to explore the small village of Pirnmill. From the picture attached, I found a large stone to add to my collection from around the world. There is also a stream here, a nice surprise for me as it is the first time I've discovered the end flowing into the sea, liken to the end of a rainbow. There is also a beautiful war memorial garden, which I imagine the many hitchhikers have stopped at and sat down to remember. There is also a post office next door and ice lollies were big sellers that day the shop inside. Beautiful and wonderful day to visit such a picturesque village. Visit and enjoy.
Awesome food! friendly staff and in lovely surroundings!
We just landed in Arran and wanted a nice place to eat. We were able to secure reservations at this restaurant and we have only fantastic things to say.
The staff is kind and helpful. The view is absolutely incredible! Our meals were absolutely fantastic!
We plan a longer stay the next time we're in Scotland and we will definitely be coming back to say hello and break bread at The Lighthouse!
Foodies heaven. Delicious haddock pate, lamb dinner and huge deserts. Do book a table though.
We had a light lunch one day and went back for an evening meal a couple of days later. The food is really good and portion sizes are really good. I would highly recommend the venison. You have to take your own alcohol and I would recommend booking
Gem of a restaurant on the west side of Arran at Pirnmill. Great food and friendly service, but not licensed for alcohol, so take your own. A really good selection of local food on the menu and a teasing array of whisky (which cannot be purchased). Good value, good food, good service.
Our group of seven had a delicious dinner with a view of the sunset over the sea. I had local pheasant stuffed with haggis with peppery whisky sauce which was outstanding. Not licensed so you can BYOB. Lovely service, and not expensive. Excellent!
Amazing fish and chips, no clue what the other reviewers were talking about.
Best fish I've had on the island. Great view over the ocean, very friendly staff and great vibe.
Well worth the visit. It's a bit out of the way but the scenery getting there is worth it. Lovely choice of food, all local. BYOB is a definite advantage. Lovely staff. Highly recommended.
