Visited the restaurant yeaterday for date with the wife. She'd spotted I the week before to make sure we went and in no way were we disappointed. The staff (including the waiter) were very friendly and helpful with the menu and the dishes seemed very authentic. We've been trying to find devilled chicken and lamb like that we had in the Maldives a few years back and this is by far the closest we have gotten. Everything was delicious and home made. The wife especially liked the colombo gin!! The restaurant is new but well done and very comfortable. Well worth a visit and will be going back again very soon.

Delicious! Being a vegetarian, I wasn't so sure that there would be enough choice for me, however there was plenty. Everything I ate was scrumptious:- Maravalli Kilangu Poriyal ( cassava), keerai vadai, vegetable rolls and Paneer devil for starters and the mains were vegetable kothu, pinepple Maluwa, stringhoppers, pol sambal, parippu curry.
Would thoroughly recommend it!

Really enjoyed the food and very distinct flavours. Being an Indian it was a nice change to try a different cuisine from the usual Indian dishes. Definitely will go again

Lots of vegetarian options, the food was fresh and flavourful. The staff is very friendly and offered great service. They have a fancy cocktail menu as well.

THE BEST srilankan restaurant in London. I've been to many Srilankan restaurant but I can't vouch more for any restaurants than Virunthu. We had chicken Virunthu, mutton kothu and Fish cutlet. Everything has been amazing from service to food taste. Their service has been outstanding and ensured we are comfortable throughout our time we spend in the restaurant
The food was exceptional. The staff was very welcoming and professional and the restaurant had a lovely ambience. Would highly recommend!

Went on a Friday. Wasn’t that busy. They do have street parking.Enjoyed the food. Devil chicken and coconut roti were awesome. Also recommend the mutton curry. The mutton rolls and vegetable roll were great as starters. Definitely recommend the place if you want authentic Sri Lankan food.
First time coming to Virundhu, most friendliest staff that makes you feel like you are eating at home. One of the lady (Nalini), she was so sweet I felt like my mum was here serving us food.
The food was excellent. Big portions which filled us. Make sure you have space for desert because their Vatulapam was magical!
Will deffo be visiting us again.

After a day of sari shopping we were famished and we were told that we must eat here and that we would not be disappointed. As it was an odd time we were lucky enough to have the restaurant to ourselves. It's a lovely atmosphere with a beautiful bar. Our server was very friendly and helpful giving us plenty of advice on what we should eat and making sure it would satisfy our spice levels. We started off with the masala mogo we wanted to order more starters but didn't want to get carried away. This was nice we also ordered coffee with condensed milk! Even though we have made it ourselves so many times it just tastes better when someone else makes it for you. Apart from having it in Sri Lanka made lovingly by my aunt which is the best I have had this is second I would say. For our mains, I had the crab curry and it was again such a high standard the columbu (gravy) was so good I didn't want to leave any behind. I also loved how they gave me cutlery to crack and scoop out the meat of the crab lot easier and quicker which i know is why lot of people are put off eating crab curry. My sister had the jaffna aatu elambu curry with veechu roti which she enjoyed very much it was not full bones so she had plenty of chewy meat to devour. My mum had the lamprais which she also enjoyed but she did say she has had better. And my dad had mutton biryani which he enjoyed thoroughly. Unfortunately we were too full to have dessert!
It is pricey for a casual meal out our bill came up to about £102 but I would say the food is worth it. Seeing we live in Essex and this is not local to us we would definitely say it was a lovely experience and I would recommend it if you are in the area. I would love to go back and try out their banana leaf rice meal next time and more of the starter options and maybe for a cheeky coffee with condensed milk! An authentic PAKISTANI restaurant is great food and also very hygienic. The food is awesome customers can take their own drinks in and enjoy a very pleasant atmosphere. It is a great place for family. I have eaten in taste of Pakistan several times in Hounslow, which is ok, but this place beats it hands down . Try it you will not be diaspointed

My partner and I visited on a Friday lunchtime. It was 2 courses for £12.50 on the lunchtime special. The dishes we ordered were delicious 😋. Very well presented and a bit different. I like spicy but my partner doesn't and they were able to adapt each of our choices to our preferences.
Food is great, we had the mutton chops and chicken wings followed by a curry and the kothu. Great drinks menu too. Staff are attentive and helpful.
