The staff are really friendly. The food was served promptly and piping hot.
I'd highly recommend starting with a sharing starter as the portions are large.
We were the only diners in the dining room and I would be intrigued to visit the restaurant when it has an atmosphere to enjoy.
Of all the meals out my party ate during out short break in Pickering, this was by far the best value for money.
Food was fantastic, not the biggest menu but definitely big enough and something for everyone, really well cooked, some unique items and really really large portions! Would advise sharing a starter as I couldn't finish my main!
The drinks were a little on the pricey side however that is to be expected, the staff were friendly and attentive
Dined here 2 nights (6th and 7th May 2023). Absolutely delicious food. VERY generous portions and well worth the price you pay. The portions are massive, so either be a competitive eater or order less than you expect as you will be happily full before the plate is empty.
Staff working here are an absolute delight too. Very pleasant and welcoming.

Food was lovely, prices were good. Food arrived quickly and it all came together. My meal was delicious and there was plenty. The staff were friendly and polite. The only downside was there was no choice in wine unless you bought a bottle.
Perfect for families to let the kids to run off some steam with the play area and large lawn. Kids were entertained for the 2.5 hours we were there. Food was lovely and portion sizes were generous and worth the money. Staff were really friendly and welcoming.
Located off a main road, and part of a static caravan and lodge site. Bar and restaurant. Split into 3 areas, main bar large dining room, then into a plastic roofed sun trap area, with more seating and outdoors has a small park with a beautiful pond area and more seats, dining areas. Friendly staff, decent home cooked food, had the Sunday dinner, and others had different things! General consensus was that it was decent grub. Has a good cool pint of John Smith's in boiling temperatures too.

We had a lovely meal here as a family of 4 (2 kids age 8 and 2). The food was great and well priced. There is a well maintained play area outside which keeps the kids busy. One of the staff members was cleaning the play area and noticed how much out youngest loves to sweep up, so he found a small sweeping brush for him to play with and gave him a lollipop for helping. He was absolutely delighted, and what a lovely gesture. Will certainly go back when we're next in the area.
Lovely little place tucked away, no problem walking in and getting a table. Attentive and friendly staff and very clean premises. Food was absolutely lovely, quick and well priced. Lovely view onto the lake from the conservatory. Highly recommended đđ Thank you đ
If youâre staying in the area you MUST eat here. OMG the portion sizes are immense, we were foolish and ordered sides with our âtrayâ meal (plates wouldnât hold all the food) needless to say not many were eaten.
We ordered the salt and pepper tray, the American combo and the ribs from the grill section, garlic mushrooms which were not breaded and fried as youâd normally get but in a creamy sauce with 2 bread rolls and salad, garlic bread and onion rings.
We shouldâve taken photos but we were so amazed by the sizes that we just made a start as we knew we were in for a long haul.

Fantastic bar and grill just hidden off Malton Road opposite black bull. Spencerâs has a great outdoor play area amazing food fantastic atmosphere staff are so friendly and the prices are amazing too! And the bar is dog friendly! Lodges down there to make a holiday of it all in all a great venue for a meal a stay a drink anything! If youâre visiting Pickering you have to visit!
Lovely welcome. Staff are nice and friendly. Great choice of food on the menu. Combo starter was very nice apart from the onion rings they weren't very good. Meaty nachos were good, great ratio of crisps to sauce and meat. Spencer's super burger is huge! And nice, steak was also very Goodman left very full!! Would recommend here

I had been to another restaurant to be told despite there website thdo not do food on a Thursday night so came across Spencers and what a gem thstaff as soon as we walked in the door could not been happier or friendlier we got to our table ordered our food and drinks. When the food arrived it looked great and a very good portion size as was the desert I can not thank the staff enough for turning the night around prices where great too

Food is Great, service is Great, the place itself is also great too. There a spacious restaurant inside as well as plenty of seats outside. There's also a large play area for children outside that's very safe for children. And if you fancy burning off the meal with a little walk then there's two large ponds to walk around and enjoy. This location has got to be one of the very best I have ever been too. The cost of the food isn't even costly for what you get. Fantastic service for what you pay for.
