Great pub in the heart of the village. The landlord is hilarious & made us feel welcome from the mi Ute we wrapped inside. Lovely roast, home cooked & great value
We had an excellent Sunday roast at the Middleton Arms today, food was spot on and service so friendly! So glad we decided to try it on our way to Pickering, would highly recommend for tasty homemade grub with a warm welcome :) Will definitely visit again when we're next in the area!
The host (landlord) is a character and adds to the atmosphere. Good beer, good food, and good music. I've paid more elsewhere for far worse food. Booking is recommended but not essential. Be prepared to wait if you've not booked. We didn't have any dietary requirements, but it was apparent from overhearing other customers ordering that nothing was a problem, whether it was allergies/intolerances or veganism/ vegetarianism.
Lovely little gem of a place . Food outstanding . The landlord / manager is a lovely jolly chap . Makes a right happy atmosphere he brings the sunshine indoors .
Will definitely visit again when next visiting pickering
Popped in for an evening meal. Brilliant and very welcoming staff. Food was absolutely fantastic, lovely and freshly cooked. Service was great. Next time we are holidaying in Yorkshire we will be coming back to eat here. Highly recommended
We had a really lovely meal here while staying in Pickering. Best steak and ale pie I've eaten in a pub. Really good meal!
Excellent evening on Friday with some friends from where we used to live. The food was amazing , service lovely and fantastic atmosphere and great banter would definately recommend thank you.
Absolute, diamond find!
If you are looking for a country pub, with a great atmosphere, a hilarious landlord, and Wendy (the chef) who cooks up an absolute feast. This is the place for you.
Dart board, log burner, and a relaxed place to be.
You won't be disappointed.
You don’t get many pubs like this any more and I’m so glad we visited. Hearty delicious pub grub made by the lovely Wendy and good beer and banter served up by the friendly landlord. All by a log fire in a warm atmosphere of locals and visitors. Highly recommend, especially the steak pie which is the best I’ve had in a while.
Beautiful food and good quality service, great staff and good atmosphere. Needs more advertising for opening times and menu but great what ever
