Decided to call here with two friends on the first glorious day of 2018 and have afternoon tea.we sat outside on the patio with stunning views a cross Wiltshire and we could even see the white horse. We asked if we could increase the afternoon tea for two..to three..and that wasn't a problem. We chose their afternoon tea blend and wow was that worth it, so fresh and palate cleansing. First came the sandwiches..egg..ham and cream cheese with cucumber...what's not to love. Followed by homemade scones with homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream...lush. Then they brought out sponge with either raspberry jam, lemon curd (fabulous and tart)or chocolate spread with squirty cream and sprinkles. To be honest another scone would have suited us better as none if us fans of fake cream. It was well worth the price at £7.40 per person add £4.95 for glass of prosecco which very reasonable...we had to have another pot of that brilliant refreshing tea while we wasted an afternoon chilling looking at that view. The interior of the Charlton Cat is lovely and as I judge most places by their loo this didn't disappoint..loved the lemon verbena hand wash too...a must go too if in the area...
Beautifully decorated with incredible art on the walls. Lots of thought has gone into this lovely place which is perfect for stopping for a bite to eat or just coffee and cake. The loose leaf teas are delicious! Excellent menu with something to suit everyone with nothing tasting anything short of delicious - the weekend brunch is definitely one to try! Amazing range of cakes all baked to perfection, I love this place!
Welcoming staff, charming interior and above all there is super food here! Everything I have had on every visit is delicious (I loved the salted caramel cake)and they do the best Welsh rarebit I have had outside Wales....
I took my mum for afternoon tea for 2 and had a lovely time.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic and will definitely be going back again.
I would highly recommend the afternoon tea for a girly afternoon or a birthday celebration.
Many thanks to the lovely team
Delicious home made scones, real clotted cream, yummy strawberry jam, good quality Earl Grey tea, a lovely sun terrace, beautiful people and a view to die for. Who could ask for more. I will definitely be back. :)
Amazing gluten free cakes! I can highly recommend the salted caramel option!
This is quickly becoming a highlight of my week. It is my favourite spot to relax & treat myself after a long week. The staff, food and setting are all excellent.
We enjoyed a quick pitt stop at The Charlton Cat this morning, with our Springer Spaniel Molly. We enjoyed a bacon sandwich and a fresh cup of coffee on the terrace - yummy and a fab view! Interested to hear about the planned steak nights for later in the year - so will definitely be watching the Facebook page for that!
A birthday afternoon tea for 16 people. All beautifully presented and we were really well looked after. This venue is tastefully furnished. We had previously eaten here during the evening (steak night is super) and lunch time... booking for a private function worked really well. Gigi did lots of extra touches, with reserved parking managed by her husband !! I would use their services again without hesitation x
Bright dining area, welcoming staff and of course lovely tasty food. We'll done Charlton Cat
Visited here with kids and grand parents and had a super time thanks to the inviting fire, tasty food, good coffee and super friendly staff. It's also really easy to do a quick post lunch walk up Cleeve Hill for the views or in Charlton St Peter thanks to footpaths that run from the Cat's front door.
Lovely little local tea room with really friendly owners. The Hummingbird cake was delicious! We will definitely be making it a regular go to!
Wonderfully special place. Thank you for squeezing us in. Food was delicious and you are all so lovely. Will be back for coffee and back for dinner in 6 months!
Lovely atmosphere!
Friendly staff!
Lovely food!
Great coffee!
Great view!
What more could you ask!
We had a wonderful time at the Charlton Cat. A wonderful atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Friendly staff and delicious toffee apple cake, gluten free lemon cake and fabulous bacon butty!! Can't wait to come again!!
My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch the other weekend when my mum was visiting - we all absolutely loved it!
There’s a great atmosphere / decor inside that makes you feel at home, the food is superb, and you can take your dogs - what more could you ask for 🙂
I’ll definitely be stopping in again, and I would recommend anyone to do the same.
I can't remember when I had a full English as good as this (apart from my own of course :-) ) Quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. Lovely waitress, lovely owner, lovely views too. Definitely one I'll be visiting again
I've seen a lot of chat about the Charlton Cat on line and the food always looked delicious so I decided to take a trip there on Saturday, taking my parents as well as the following day was their wedding anniversary. What we found was a cosy, clean well presented cafe with great views and tasty food. We all opted for the Charlton breakfast which when it came out looked delicious and certainly proved to be with local Lowerfield Farm sausage, bacon, mushrooms tomato and a thick piece of Eggy Bread. Absolute heaven and reasonably priced too. We will definitely be visiting again
What a find! Well done hubby 🥰 When we forgot the frying pan for our overnight camp 3 minutes away is this beautiful cafe. Serving the best breakfasts, in the classiest of ways. Stunning views from the patio seating. Perfect Sunday. Will be back!
A lovely tea room with some tasty variations on the cakes. Friendly, helpful staff who looked after our cycling group.
A real hidden gem with fresh, delicious food, a relaxing vibe, great views, amazing walks, beautiful art and very friendly staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautifully finished inside, with stunning views of the Marlborough Downs outside from the elevated seating area. Really high quality food and drink from very attentive staff. Not open earlier in the week and they sometimes have private functions over the weekend period, so check their Facebook page for notifications. Well worth visiting.....but take care when leaving the car park....limited vision up the road.
What an amazing place.
We stumbled on this place while driving south to Bournemouth. Had an amazing brunch, the best cakes.
View and atmosphere was spectacular.
Love this place, we visit very often. The interior is lively, prices are good and there's a nice garden for children to play in.
As they're the only coffee shop in the area, they must be cleaning up, rightly so though.
