Decided to have a night over in Petworth as not visited before. Arrived slightly early but were greeted by Will who was very friendly and helpful. Shown to a wonderful room, full of character and charm . Went down to the bar and enjoyed the banter going on between staff and regulars. A lovely friendly place where we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely cooked breakfast too. Highly recommend, great antique shops in the area, quaint streets and Petworth house and grounds were stunning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Angel Inn. We all ordered the fish pie (as it had been recommended to us) and it did not disappoint!
Everyone who served us was welcoming, friendly, polite and efficient.
We wouldn't hesitate to return and would thoroughly recommend to others.
My friend, my dog and I had a wonderful experience at The Angel. A very welcoming place to have lunch; the food was lovely, faultless service and the atmosphere of the whole place was very friendly. We will return. Highly recommended.
Good food, good beer, round tables, spacious, good service, good atmosphere.
Only slight downside could be parking if the nearby church car park is busy.
It's a lovely pub inside and has the most delicious food too! I ate the pulled pork burger and it was amazing��

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary and saw in the new year at the Angel inn. The staff were very polite and extremely helpful. They couldn't do enough for us throughout the stay. It's full of character and charm and the food was exceptional. We would like to thank them for making our first anniversary a memorable one.

A lovely old local friendly pub with a good menu. On sunny days there is a walled garden with down lights for the evening.
I had my 60th birthday party here one sunday in January and it was just perfect. The staff at The Angel were brilliant and made everything go smoothly and especially Will the manager who arranged the menu for me. we also had a small party in the garden couple of years ago and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to the next one,
We only stopped for a drink after a dog walk, it seemed very pleasant.. although we could have enjoyed it a little better without the 3 coarse young men loudly describing their previous night of debauchery!!

I love this place, cannot rave about it enough. They don't have a huge menu but anything you try will be amazing. Honestly the best chicken burger ever. Breakfast is great too.
The outside terrace is lovely to sit back and enjoy a drink.
We had a lovely meal at The Angel with my parents. My vegetarian burger was nice and was served with fries .
My parents enjoyed their fish and lamb, the ice creams and sorbet were really nice as well.
My second visit to the wonderful Angel Inn Petworth. The service is superb and the food is delicious. The Lemon Tart is fabulous and just the right size. Well done one and all I will be back soon.
Had a wonderful Sunday roast today. Absolutely delicious. The gravy was the best I’ve tasted in years. Couldn’t fault a thing. Very nice accommodating staff too.
Went for evening meal good service and food plentiful. Only downside sat ourmtside and very dark so difficult to see food.

We stopped in here for lunch after visiting Petworth House and we’re not disappointed.
We had been here years ago after a hot air balloon ride and has we had very happy memories of that time we thought we would revisit.
I love a Sunday roast and I opted for the Roast Pork, Gill chose the beef, both were delicious.
The service was great, true hospitality with a well trained and very well presented team. After a 7 week trip where we have eaten out most days the team The Angel were by far the best of all the places that we visited.
We will definitely be back next time we are in the UK, great work guys, thank you.
My wife and I had lunch with seven friends and family at The Angel yesterday, then spent a comfortable night in the hotel. Lunch was delicious, as was breakfast, the bedroom was luxurious, and service throughout was excellent.
The Angel is a great pub, restaurant, and hotel.
We will be repeating the adventure, I'm sure.
As an aside, the town is lovely, and Petworth Park is spectacular.
Go there, you'll enjoy it.

Great meal with the kids - the Angel was very accommodating even though they were super busy and it was pouring with rain. Bar seating was comfy. Highly recommend - some nice dishes on the menu - kids enjoyed pasta and my squid salad w/ Chilli and mango was very good. (and they found my gloves I'd left behind and offered to post them to me! Massively grateful for that too!)
Our family of six stayed at the Angel for one night due to a rugby tournament. Lovely staff, cannot do enough for your comfort including stoking the fire. The rooms are comfy with old wooden beams. Rooms with a bath also have a walk shower. Good menu choice too and drinks. Would visit again.
Fast and friendly service, delicious food and beautiful interior. I recommend it with all my heart!
Very nice location & a very warm, cosy & homely feel to the property.
Rooms were very warm (it was -2 degrees when we visited) and they felt very relaxing.
Food was nice, maybe a little pricey, but to be expected in these locations. Perhaps bigger portions could make up for the price.
Will definitely stay again.
My wife and I stayed overnight (3/11/21 - 4/11/21) at the 'Angel Inn', visiting the Petworth Festival. Warm, characterful and welcoming, we loved the place. We had fresh milk delivered to our room on our arrival, and a jug of fresh milk placed outside our room on the morning of 4/11. Our supper - 2 ‘small’ fish and chips - was good. The breakfast - I had the ‘Angel Breakfast’ - was superb. We shall return. The small hotel car park was full when we arrived, but we parked on the road outside the hotel, which was unrestricted.
We did return: a second visit (27/7/23 - 28/7/23) was as good as the first visit. The scrambled eggs in the cooked breakfast were awaesome. Beer, from the local Langham Brewery, was lovely. See you next year!
Great lunch with friends in a lovely traditional upmarket pub / restaurant / hotel. We managed all 3 courses. All were awesome and I had a lovely pint too. The wine was great. We were well looked after and food was worth the price.
If we were in Petworth again, we'd definitely go back.
