Great food and ideal Suffolk county pub setting. Ordered tartar, pork chops and malt ice cream. Couldn’t fault it.
Absolutely fantastic food. Beautifully presented dishes full of wonderful flavours. The mangetout and cows curd appetiser was delicious, as was the rib of beef. Service was prompt & courteous without being overbearing. Definitely worth a visit.

The best meal out we’ve had in ages. The oysters were incredible with a horseradish vinegar, and black treacle rye sourdough on the side. The burrata starter with wild garlic was the best I’ve had. Then we went for the bavette sharing main - cooked to total perfection with amazing sides. Portion sizes were great, and wine / cocktail list also really special. We love that you can eat food this special in a gorgeous atmospheric Suffolk pub ! Service was warm and spot on.
Superb food service and wine in a country pub setting.
(NB Review refers to previous ownership prior to change in 2022) Every time I come here the food is amazing, staff friendly. Cosy inside in winter, nice garden in summer. Don’t forget to try the delicious soda bread. Sunday lunch today very good portion size, one of the best beef roasts I have had in ages.
A warm welcome, fantastic service, incredible menu of local produce and well kept ales. The best dining experience in a long time! (and still space to come in for a cosy drink) 5/5
Wow, I saw the menu and was a little nervous - but this has to be the best pub food around. Such a fantastic meal - recommend the Norfolk Dapple Gougeres. Can't wait to come back!!
Excellent dog friendly pub/restaurant. Food and service were very good, accompanied by a very nice wine list.
Had the most excellent dinner here. Often struggle for really good food in the area, especially in a pub setting, but this was truly excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The menu is small but with a lovely selection of slightly different dishes - all very carefully thought through and executed perfectly. I will absolutely be coming back.
