Really recommend this lovely pub for a delicious Sunday lunch! The salmon fishcake and salad was delicious, the staff were friendly and really helpful and the garden was a lovely setting. We will be back!
Really warm welcoming country pub! My husband and I turned up here on a busy Bank Holiday Monday, without booking! The staff were very accommodating! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Would definitely recommend!
A lovely little pub with friendly staff and an amazing well considered menu & wine list. Would highly recommend.
We were recommended to visit the Thomas Lord for the food and history. As Australians licking our wounds from the thrashing handed out in the cricket we put on our best English accents and visited. Great pub and atmosphere with very efficient and friendly service. The food however was the star. Outstanding best describes the dishes we sampled. The chef clearly knows his way around the kitchen and flavour combinations. We are coming back. Love it.
Always stop here for food and drink , friendly and helpful staff best menu around thanks ! S
Great setup with fantastic styled rooms set at the back of the pub. Food looked great although I didn’t get to eat anything other than breakfast (which was great) which is testament to how tasty the Guinness was. I will definitely be staying again.
I think I might have found my new favourite food pub
Lovely atmosphere, great staff & a crummy good x
A really lovely pub. Great beer and wine. Excellent bar snacks and superb Sunday roast dinner. Super bar staff, especially Amy, a lovely young lady.
Food was excellent and staff very welcoming and friendly will recommend to all my friends & family ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely friendly pub - delicious food - dog friendly - mega helpful/polite staff. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
The food is amazing. Agree with some of the other negative comments about the staff. Service is very slow, we knew that when we went, but the food is well worth the waiting for.
High quality food at reasonable prices. Excellent traditional pub atmosphere with very attentive staff.
Obviously, England is about to go into a second lockdown (Nov '20) and I hope this wonderful pub is able to weather the coming storm.
Had a great lunch here with delicious food and very friendly and efficient staff. It is justifiably very popular, so booking is highly recommended. Extremely dog friendly in the bar area and a big garden when the weather allows. The bar has a beautiful open fire and lots of tasteful cricket memorabilia decorates the walls. Open all day (currently), but food service is specific times for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Lots of space between tables, ample amounts of sanitiser around the pub and one-way system in operation.
This is a perfect country pub.
Stopped for a lunch which was delicious. All covid friendly with lovely staff. Highly recommend
We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had a fabulous, memorable stay. Our trip was booked through great little breaks.. 2 nights bed and breakfast with a picnic for lunch and a 3 course meal one evening. The food was fantastic. The breakfasts were lovely, the sandwiches for lunch were sublime...beef, horseradish and watercress for me and crab mayo with salad for my other half. Our dinner was delicious, prawn cocktail and mushroom sharawa to start, rib eye and a burger for mains and lemon sorbet and brownie for desert. I couldn't fault the food at all. The cabin we stayed in was so lovely. It was detached, so offered a real sense of privacy. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfy, there was a kettle with tea coffee and milk. A small fridge, smart TV, bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. I would definitely recommend staying here.
What can i say, along with The White Hart in South Harting this is my favorite pub. We love it, from the open fire to the taxidermy above the bar (rodents playing cricket) to the Crafty Brewing local ale. They're also very accommodating of our 3 and 5 year olds which makes everything easier. Also the Meon Valley is a superb place for country walks.
We came here twice whilst staying in Meon Springs, once for lunch and a second time for Sunday Roast, both were delicious.
Staff super friendly and helpful.
For lunch I had the steak and my partner the fish and chips, which were both amazing
For roast dinner I had the beef roast and my partner the pork, both were great
They had some nice local beers on tap and some good wines as well.
The Thomas Lord always used to be the pub for a celebration, it was priced above average and the food was excellent. We visited in September 2020 and the menu prices were more reasonable than I remember. We had calamari (very tasty) and a chicken burger (bun was a bit dry but the fries were excellent). Food isn't quite what it used to be. A few customers didn't quite understand the Covid rules (one woman walked about without a mask, ignoring the one way system as her car alarm had gone off!). On the whole it's still above average just not what it used to be.
Lovely pub. Delicious food. Great with social distancing, making sure tables are really spread out. All staff were wearing masks.
For people thinking of dining with babies - there's no baby change.
