This pub is fairly chilled out but can be quite busy on occasions. Specifically Mother’s Day, valentines, Christmas etc. but that’s not a negative at all. Young and friendly staff always whizzing around working hard. The food is a balance between slightly posh and pub grub. Depending on when and what you order of course. Again though, not a negative. The food it always hot and there has never been an issue with it. Decent selection of beers as well.

Usual a good place for food. However we went for a pizza and as they are stone baked and really very good. Bit disappointed to be told after we sat down with our drinks that they had no dough for pizza. I had the steak which was a little tough to be honest. The Eton Mess for pudding definitely pulled it back tho as it was amazing. Overall was a little disappointed on this occasion as it's usually very good here. I will be going back as I'm sure they have only been a blip on what is usually a good experience.

Booked a table for a meal with family, having not been to The Cuckoo before did not know what to expect. Arrived a few minutes early but was shown to our table. Some of our party have dietary requirements that were catered for with a separate menu and the use of a tablet and app to check ingredients. This made choosing a lot easier. The menu was okay for our requirements and when food arrived it was well cooked. The Cuckoo was busy, but waiting time between courses was not too bad. Stay pleasant and very helpful.it was busy on the Saturday we visited, so it may be better to nook a table in advance. We will call in again

Although I've visited The Cuckoo several times, it was the first visit for my son and best friends. They enjoyed the food, venue and friendly staff.

"Menus are by the laptops". Not a hardship to get my own menu but a bit unusual especially if like us you don'tknow the place. Staff for the most part very welcoming and polite. Didn't have to wait long for the food and really enjoyed my chicken burger and dessert but very slow to clear plates. Our particular table was tricky to eat at due to very comfy but low-set chairs. Asked what the soup of the day was before ordering and duly told but then after I ordered told that there was no soup left. I went without a starter as noyhing else on the menu I fancied. Little things and might not matter to everyone but fixing them would improve overall experience. Truly lovely overall feel inside the pub just not matched on this occasion by the experience.

I have to give this place 4.5 stars. Not everyone in our group was happy with their meal, but all in all, it was a great evening. The service was excellent. The drinks came out quick and were made well. The place is so nice inside with lots of seating, both in the bar area and the restaurant part. Nice sized car park too. Highly recommend.

Food was lovely. Staff were friendly. Nice pub and reasonably priced. Drinks to table was slow as busy at bar Friday eve. 15/20 mins wait. Had 3 courses and drinks and enjoyed the lot! Slow cooked belly of pork special was incredible!

What a lovely little boozer! Splendid evening, we make an annual trip here and the cocktails made by Caris were remarkable, nothing was too much hassle and we were delighted 😁

My experience at this pub is positive and would come bck You do order drinks and food at the bar after grabbing table outside or inside. Our for was brought to us after 15 minutes of wait The food tasted good and what we ordered we would order again, next time I will order fish and chips because the portion was massive and cod fish was fresh. the sit outside was comfortable We did not like the fact that we had to go and fetch forks and knifes to eat a meal especially when wasps flyingaroundand try to get the food that is on the plate basically lady that brought our meals should also bring cutler but this is how they serve food here I need to get up and get it yourself (!?). I do prefer to sit outside and wait for waitres to come and take order and complete the whole procedure while I enjoy my cold beer..... My Guinness wasn't in genuine Guinness glass and tested a bit watery and the taste just wasn't there, perhaps it was from the bottom of the barrel? toilet was clean at 5pm (before we left) food 4/5 drink 3/5 serve 3/5 toilet 5/5 15:4=3.75 so will give 4 stars Thank you.

Greeting was great, but was then sat at a small table for 4 people, we asked to be sat at a larger table for 4 and was first left waiting for about 15 minutes and no response and then questioned again to be told we couldn't move because the other table was fully booked. On that bigger table then sat 2 people, they left and a further 2 people sat there. So, in theory, we could have been moved had your staff wanted to. The small table for 4 people was very cramped and only just fitted all the glasses, utensils, cutlery and plates on. Surely, it is not much to ask for when you are paying £160 for a meal to have some space on the table,

Visited this Vintage Inn with my mum at 5.45pm on a Monday evening in October 2023. We sat in the bar area for a bar meal, ordering at the bar. I had halloumi and green grain salad and my mum had gammon, eggs, chips and peas and everything was absolutely delicious. My expectations were not that high before we arrived. Not sure why not but they weren't. But the food was excellent and the staff were really friendly. Just one thing, my mum could have done with a proper steak/meat knife to go with her gammon, as it was a bit awkward for her to cut without one but that's a small issue. I would definitely recommend.

Staff were nice and welcoming, 4 of the 5 meals were perfect but one was dry and overdone and not described with cheese in it when it did. The fizzy drinks weren't fizzy. When we told the staff they refunded the overdone meal and were lovely about the whole thing. Would recommend going here and I definitely think I was just unlucky and it is a really nice place with lovely staff.
